CA State Senator Debra Bowen Picks Up Over 80% of the Delegate Vote
Edited on Wed May-03-06 04:48 AM by nicknameless
REAL Dems back Bowen!
Her email today:

On Saturday at the California Democratic Party convention in Sacramento, I won the party nomination for Secretary of State!

This truly was a resounding victory for our campaign. We picked up more than 80% of the delegate vote -- an overwhelming win. In fact, it was the highest percentage total of any other Democratic running for statewide office this year.

But this critical victory wouldn't have been possible without your help, and without the support of hundreds of volunteers and delegates in Sacramento this past weekend.

Thank you so very much. I'm so grateful for your help. In our grassroots campaign to restore people's confidence in our democracy, and safeguard our elections system, the endorsement of the Democratic Party means a lot.

This message is also on her blog: http://www.debrabowen.com/blog
Hopefully, CTA and other union members will wake up. Their leadership's backing of McPherson is an outrageous betrayal.

Bowen is the only sane choice.

1. Hallelujah! Congratulations, Debra and the Calif Democratic Party!!!!!!
This is momentous! Bowen has broken the "sound barrier"--crashed right through that wall of deafening silence by the CA Democratic Party on the nation-saving matter of transparent elections! That silence that has been driving us all crazy! That silence that has made us sick with worry that our country's elections are hopelessly rigged and will never produce anything but fascist results. Bowen's campaign has been the "shot heard round the world" on fascist rule by Bushite voting machine corporations. What she is saying is revolutionary, in these circumstances--although it's just plain old fundamental democracy: You vote; your vote GETS COUNTED in a way that you can SEE and VERIFY. She is smart. She is knowledgeable. The Democratic Party has now endorsed her! This is the most important campaign in the country!

Debra Bowen for Secretary of State!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot: :applause: :patriot:

The California Teachers union rank and file now need to get on their leadership and throw them out, if they don't rescind their endorsement of Diebold shill and Schwarzenegger appointee Bruce McPherson. How that endorsement ever occurred--before the primaries were held, before any issues were discussed--needs investigation. With the power to tabulate our votes behind a veil of secrecy--with "trade secret," proprietary software--these Bushite fascists will destroy the teachers' union and defund public education. That's their agenda. And McPherson is their tool. California teachers, arise! Revolt! Hold your union leaders accountable!

Those who believe in democracy and consider themselves to be Americans--whatever party they belong to--must join together and throw these Bushite-controlled, highly riggable, non-transparent voting machines out of our elections NOW!

Re: Barbara Kerr - CTA's President:
"Also, I have been told that she is good friends with Trojan Horse McPherson."

These union members need to speak out NOW.

3. When any Dem Party or union leaders says they are not interested in how
votes are counted, you know the Diebold/ES&S fix is in.

We've called it the "blank stare" here, from time to time. You ask a Democratic Party elected official, or party leader, aren't they concerned about Bushite corporations counting all our votes with "TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code and virtually no audit/recount controls? --and they stare at you. 'What? Votes? Me care about Bushites counting votes behind a veil of secrecy? Are you crazy? Are you a communist?'

We all know that stare. Big blank opaque looking eyes--like they're taking down your name for Homeland Security. Our own Dems. Not interested in Bushite corporations counting our votes.

Anyway, just figure corruption. It may not be so bad they cannot back down--and cannot recover a virtuous position. Put it to them; give them a chance, and if they don't drop Diebold shill McPherson immediately, there needs to be an insurgency against them (as there was in the League of Women Voters). The CTA supporting McPherson could destroy American democracy, once and for all. Really, it's that serious.

The CTA in bed with FARM BUREAU--one of the most fascist organizations in California! Not okay!

Nicknameless, thanks for the heads up on JunkYardDog's post!

Bowen is a tremendous force. She has been fighting like crazy for us -- and not just on election issues.

California is incredibly lucky to have her.

It's about time that union leadership got in line with their membership's best interest.

Edit: atrocious grammar ;)
