IL: Uncounted Ballots Cast Doubt On County Elections
OK. So they can't write very well. But you get the picture.

Uncounted Ballots Cast Doubt On County Elections

Mar 22, 2006

(CBS) CHICAGO Some ballots all over Cook County are being counted late due to equipment problems, and the city Board of Elections chairman says they won't be ready until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Chicago Board of Elections Chairman Langdon Neal confirmed to CBS 2 that many results cartridges voting equipment cannot be transmitted, and were being read early Wednesday morning. He said it will take until 1 p.m. Tuesday for all the votes to be counted.

As many as 200 precincts in the city could not be counted, he said. Both the city Board of Elections and the Cook County clerk's office were having problems counting ballots.

"I think this is a terrible failure on the part of Election authorities," Axelrod said.

2. a messy election

This is the worst mess I've seen in Illinois elections. At 1AM only half the votes are counted in many Cook County races. Someone dropped the ball here. If this is a sign of what's to come in November, it's going to be ugly.

4. No one dropped the ball, the Board of Election Commissioners
of Cook County were sold a "bill of goods" with these machines. Today was a total joke...

I don't even want to think about the election in November. All hell will probably break loose...

I'm just wondering who will make it to Federal Court first today, Claypool's people or Stroger's people...

6. I susspect that these latest "glitches" are a cover up for...
"discrepancies" in earlier elections. "Well dang sorry. I guess you did win. Tough luck about them computers huh?" and a final bright "Case dissmissed, Yer 'onoer?"
