Who's read "Votescam" by the Collier brothers?
And what do you DUers think about its claims? For those who haven't read it, here're several links to previous
threads, in part referencing the book. Most are from late '04-spring '05. For those who own the book, pardon
my re-opening the subject, but I imagine with 2006 elections pending, it could stand some attention from DU
newbies.

I just finished it and it raises a great number of issues important to this Forum. Assuming what they write
is true, the electoral 'fix" is well and truly in even deeper than we think. Ken and Jim Collier spent more than
twenty years investigating and publicizing election fraud around the country. They were unable to take their
evidence into the justice system due to the "establishment" thwarting them when they got close to a legitimate
hearing or trial.

From Chapter 11 on, the reading is especially sobering. The book covers the era from mid-1970 through 1990.
Published in 1992 and not widely available, perhaps considered "too sensational" by the usual distribution
network, it can be purchased at <www.votescam.com> a site run by Jim Collier's daughter. Reading it is a
refresher-reminder about how long we citizens have been dealt out of elections, especially at the federal level.
HCPBs seem to be the only recourse for an honest elections system. We must get parallel elections going
everywhere possible this fall. Living in Ohio, I'm seeing the one-party statehouse creating a fascist government,
and few seem to realize it, thanks to the collusion of the media. Just like Germany ca. 1930. We ARE in an
emergency situation...

bar none. I'm sure that Fooled Again, should be considered right along next to it - but at this time i haven't yet read either.. but i plan to when i can. my friend said that Vote Scam was a book that he worked really hard to get on peoples radar screen years ago, but no one wanted to talk about it or hear about it. (in a manner of speaking) my friend is an extremely well informed, deep background researcher, and i take his advise on this book seriously.

2. did they think Dukakis actually won in 1988?
Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 07:04 PM by OnTheOtherHand
from the beginning of chapter 1 (right after two snippets from George H W Bush's victory speech) :
It was not "the People" of the United States of America who did "the speaking" on that election day, although most of them believed it was, and still believe so.

In fact, the People did not speak at all, and George Bush may have known it or, at least, strongly suspected it.

http://www.votescam.com/chap1.php

I think that's a crock. Oh, hang on, they think that Bush "may have" lost if it weren't possible to manipulate all the county mainframes to match the network projections. Well, in that case, I think that "may be" a crock. Or maybe it is just a tease.

As for the rest that I could read online, I have no way of knowing whether it is a crock or not -- some of it makes no sense to me (like the suggestion that three 1970 elections in Dade County had the same number of total votes because, supposedly, there wasn't time to change the totals between elections -- WTF?). But Chapter 1 is not an encouraging beginning.

(Because the League of Women Voters has about it a perfume of volunteerism and do-goodism, the fact that it is actually a political club with a political agenda and a hungry treasury is shrouded by the false myth that it is a reliable election-day watchdog.)

Yeah, OK, whatever.

(EDIT: Sorry to be cranky -- I just got annoyed reading that stuff. Frankly, it reminds me of stuff I've read about black helicopters. Although it could still be true.)

3. That book blows me away!
The book is an incredible read, and makes you look at the silence of our representatives on both sides of the aisle very suspiciously. I have always wondered about that scene with Janet Reno and what she said to that Lawyer(?) that was going to help them that made him walk out of the office looking so scared. Do you remember that scene? What do you make of it? I am the only one among my family and friends who has read it and I have always wanted to get someone elses take on it. It seemed like such a wide conspiracy, and now it takes very few people to change a much larger number of votes (http://votetrustusa.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=645&Itemid=26).

What do you think was going on?

By the way for other readers of this post, I think you can also READ it on line at http://votescam.com
