<Think of this as an opportunity to "educate" some more. After all, we need ALL the help we can get. I've got to make one more quick post, then I gotta go for a while; but I promise I will answer there too.>

"If we can't win at the polls, what are we doing? How can we ever get back in power? Do you, honestly and deeply, think we're completely fucked? And if you do .... why do you even bother posting? What would you have us all do?"

1. my response:
- An article by Chuck Herrin. "(Note: Chuck Herrin is a computer security expert who is hired by Fortune 500 companies to hack into their computer systems to detect and correct security flaws. After the 2004 election, he presented to North Carolina legislators, where he demonstrated how easy and quickly central vote tabulators can be hacked and the vote counts changed without leaving any evidence....He is a conservative republican who is deeply alarmed by the use of electronic voting and tabulating in US elections.)"

I have been screaming to local dem groups that unless this issue is addressed all their grassroot efforts are for naught! this is THE issue. We must push for 100% paper and hand counted!

ps I so strongly believe this that I have closed my business (of 17+ years) to devote my full attention to election reform!

2. Chuck Herrin - good choice... And I agree with your personal choice
"I so strongly believe this that I have closed my business (of 17+ years) to devote my full attention to election reform!"

There is nothing else we could do right now that is more important.

3. My response
Staying on message
is important Paper Ballots Hand Counted, no more computer voting. I say computer voting because people I've talked to about this get a better visual of how it can be rigged.

Every one knows Paper ballots hand counted is the only answer to secure elections, yes I know its not 100%. But we have a lot of sites linking to the DU, we need to be on message more now than ever.So When the lurkers and newbies come in, they don't get mixed messages.

The lurkers are not versed on ES&S, DIEBOLD, VVPAT,VVPB, optiscan, DRE E-voting and central tabulators. All it is going to do is confuse the hell out of them.

We have to be like * in the one speech thats going around the INTERNET where they count how many times he uses the word TERRA.

My 2 cents....

4. You're right; computer voting is a better phrase than electronic voting.
