States with Jurisdictions Using Paper Ballots

In 2000, 370 counties used paper ballots. For the 2004 election, approximately 299 counties are expected to use paper ballots exclusively.

Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin

States with Jurisdictions Using Mechanical Lever Voting Machines

For the 2004 election, 270 counties across the country will use lever machines.

6. This is great info but what about the central tabulators?
It seems to me that regardless of the method used by the voter, the vote can be easily misrepresented by the central tabulators. Is there not some way to know what central tabulators are used in each state?

10. That's a really good point.
And I don't know the answer to that...except to say that anywhere there is a DRE or an OpScan system, there may (and perhaps probably are) tabulators involved.

9. We need a comparison of Bush/Gore vs. Bush/Kerry in all paper counties.
I'm betting Kerry did a lot better than Gore anywhere the votes were hand counted.
I did an analysis on just NH's paper ballot counties that showed that conclusiviely.
