7. Hi, I made it home, but demodonkey fell on her ass...

The whole way home I kept calling my house via cell phone and talking my mother through getting on the computer and into DU to check the totals... when I heard the news we went over the top, I was so excited that I stopped at a Rest Plaza, got out of the car, tripped over a high curb in the dark, and promptly fell flat onto my right knee ! x(

No one around at this rest plaza in the middle of the night but a bunch of sleeping truck drivers, so I drag myself back into the car and keep going but with very delicate use of right foot (thank goodness for cruise control, and that it still works on my old car!) ;-)

Am sitting here with ice bag on my right knee, which probably needs an X-ray, but hey I'm in the same "no insurance" boat with Andy... DO NOT worry about me though; a banged-up knee is painful and annoying, but not life-threatening. Everybody save ALL your good energies to focus on Andy for tomorrow! :-)

Take care of that knee! Wrap it up and keep icing to manage the swelling. If you use homeopathic remedies I recommend some Arnica, take it topically and orally. It helps!

...when he learned the $50,000 goal had been met. I realize he's going through a difficult time with this surgery tomorrow; he must be riding an emotional roller coaster. No time for celebrating.

17. Nope... The hospital misplaced his check and cancelled his surgery

Poor Andy! The mailroom misdirected his check and the hospital cancelled his surgery without consulting anyone. Meanwhile, Andy was enroute to Baltimore only to find out about the snafu when he arrived.

Andy's scheduled for pre-op testing this Thursday. Surgery will follow on after then.

What happens to all those healthy, successful surgery vibes that were sent his way on Monday? Do they get rerouted in the mailroom, too? Or did they go to whoever ended up on that operating table?

Many things I still don't know about this world.
