It is from the Philadelphia Inquirer. Strap on your tin foil hats.

I wonder how many repugs blew chunks when reading this piece this AM?

2. First paragraph suggests that Josh Mitteldorf might have....
...been flying first class:

<snip>
ON A RECENT flight to Nashville, I sat next to a man who asked what I was writing. Preparing a talk, I told him, for a conference of people sharing evidence that the 2004 presidential election was stolen. Without missing a beat, he asked. "Isn't that next door to the convention on UFO sightings?"

Did you ask him, "why, are you attending the UFO convention?"

5. I think he was trying to be sarcastic
At least, that's how I read his ending. I agree, though, that it was terrible. Any repugs reading it who got riled up just ended the article with a chuckle and threw it away.

11. Seems he is
getting the story out there, while protecting his job, that last paragragh does not discount the story. For the sleeping dems that want to check it all out,all while keeping the repugs fast asleep. I think it helps us big time.

I'm simply commenting on the writing. That's not how I'd have ended the column. Kudos to him for writing it and PE for publishing it!

18. he's not protecting his job...
Josh is and was openly honest about all the fraud.

he was using SARCASM and irony as technique to emphasize the point of the prior paragraphs... I realize most readers read at 2nd grade level in US but we're hoping they get the main point...

IT'S NOT TIME TO MOVE ON... many of us have solidly chosen not to move on, Josh and US Count Votes, included.. he's part of the folks who did the exit polll www.uscountvotes.org

IT IS SO NOT TIME TO MOVE ON... rather, we are seeing unprecedented mainstream attention to something that was off limits talking about months ago...

16. I didn't like the ending either. Where it was posted, most readers will
interpret it to mean-time to move on in the literal sense.

THIS MUST BE OPENLY DISCUSSED AND BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR NATION. WE MUST DEMAND FAIR AND TRANSPARENT ELECTIONS!

17. JOSH ROCKS...
this article is so great...

sometimes you win more audience over with sarcasm than with telling the truth, which seems to be uncool lately.... his editorial was brilliantly written and that we are getting mainstream airtime means some folks are very much into helping us get our story out...

Josh rocks... US Count Votes rocks.... kudos to Josh....

I kind of gave up for a while, but lately have been heavily back into action - cleaning up and organizing my bookmarks, writing letters and actually feeling HOPE that things are progressing (In spite of the interference of the radical regressives into the pretend "Commission on Federal Election Reform")

27. Powerful story of election fraud in Ohio. I hope it makes some previously
complacent citizens stop and think, finally, that maybe the election WAS stolen. The evidence is overwhelming, but up to now, so has been the force of suppression. Are we finally in sight of a tipping point where people start to wake to the fact that there has been a coup d'etat? And that the major media have enabled it from the first?

Recommended. A good addition to the collection, something to send out to people you're still trying to convince.

Thanks, Botany.

33. AND coming at a time when none of the stories in the news
are going too well for blivet**. Gas is too expensive, Bolton is too much of a jerk, Delay is too crooked, the Social Security salespitch is flopping around like a goldfish that jumped out of the tank, the economy still hasn't recovered, and Iraq keeps going down, down, down -- except for the parts that are going up in flames.

Just when Joe 'Merkin is maybe wondering' how this guy got re-elected, along comes a story pointing out that WMD ain't the only thing we got swindled on.

Ahhh...

over 100,000 uncounted votes for Kerry???

32. We here on Planet Nashville salute you, Josh. Great article.
It's good to see this second DU thread on Josh's op-ed piece on this forum. We are working to get Josh's piece re-printed here in Nashville, along with Bob Koehler's second (Chicago) Tribune Media Services column. Here are the links to Koehler's columns:

http://www.commonwonders.com/archives/col290.htm
http://www.commonwonders.com/archives/col291.htm

We're also working to get the Nashville Tennessean to editorialize locally about election reform and election justice, as we go door-to-door in our legislature starting early next week with our message about the:

Protect the Vote Two-Step in Tennessee:

1) Voter-verified paper ballots
2) Mandatory random manual recounts

Hope everyone who "showed up" at the "Nash-ional" is up to similar country-saving good deeds back home. That's what it is going to take.

We are the ones ....

36. This paragraph struck me in particular...
"I met Richard Hayes Phillips, a geologist from New Hampshire who was invited to Ohio to study the integrity of the vote, and realized that a complete inventory of lost and miscounted votes was needed. To date, Phillips has analyzed 15 of Ohio's 88 counties, and by his most conservative estimate has found 101,000 uncounted Kerry votes - 136,000 is the margin by which Bush officially defeated Kerry."

Is this a well known case? I have been following all this but don't recall hearing about this. Anyone have more info?
