<I like all of these. I wouldn't necessarily have them is this order (or all included). It depends on who "I'm talkin' to". For example, if it's a repub, I lead off with the Herrin info, and be sure to point out Herrin's a republican. It also depends on their level of interest, and what they like. Videos, reading, etc. So I pick and choose from the following resources, and custom-tailor the communication package for the situation/person.>

January 7th, 2005 National Annenberg Election Survey (page 2 - 30% of American voters were NOT “very confident that their vote had been counted accurately”. This number is up from 20% in surveys taken the month before.) <Impying, if so many feel that way, maybe there IS a problem?>

April 1st - Analysis of the 2004 Presidential Election Exit Poll Discrepancies

The report concludes: “ We believe that the absence of any statistically-plausible explanation for the discrepancy between Edison/Mitofsky’s exit poll data and the official presidential vote tally is an unanswered question of vital national importance that needs thorough investigation.”

Complete report:
http://electionarchive.org/ucvAnalysis/US/Exit_Polls_2004_Edison-Mitofsky.pdf

An executive summary of the report by is available at:
http://electionarchive.org/ucvAnalysis/US/Exit_Polls_summary.pdf

Press release:
Scientific Analysis Suggests Presidential Vote Counts May Have Been Altered

“Officially, President Bush won November's election by 2.5%, yet exit polls showed Kerry winning by 3% <1>. According to a report to be released today by a group of university statisticians, the odds of a discrepancy this large between the national exit poll and election results happening by accident are close to 1 in a million.

In other words, by random chance alone, it could not have happened. But it did.”

Group says chance of exit polls being so wrong in '04 vote is one-in-959,000
By Stephen Dyer - Beacon Journal staff writer

“There's a one-in-959,000 chance that exit polls could have been so wrong in predicting the outcome of the 2004 presidential election, according to a statistical analysis released Thursday.”

“The explanation for the discrepancy that was offered by the exit polling firm -- that Kerry voters were more likely to participate in the exit polling -- is an ``implausible theory,'' according to the report issued Thursday by US Count Votes, a group that claims it's made up of about two dozen statisticians.”
http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/news/11284237.htm

Analysis - Vote Counts May Have Been Altered

“The consortium that conducted the presidential exit polls, Edison/Mitofsky, issued a report in January suggesting that the discrepancy between election results and exit polls occurred because Bush voters were more reticent than Kerry voters in response to pollsters.

The authors of this newly released scientific study "Analysis of the 2004 Presidential Election Poll Discrepancies" considers this "reluctant Bush responder" hypothesis to be highly implausible, based on extensive analysis of Edison/Mitofsky's exit poll data. They conclude, “The required pattern of exit poll participation by Kerry and Bush voters to satisfy the exit poll data defies empirical experience and common sense under any assumed scenario.”

A state-by-state analysis of the discrepancy between exit polls and official election results shows highly improbable skewing of the election results, overwhelmingly biased towards the President.”

“Ph.D. statisticians in America who have seen this group's preliminary exit poll study have not refuted it. This new study is a much more comprehensive an analysis of the exit poll discrepancies.”

MSNBC: Suit filed on county vote machines
A contract between Snohomish County and a private firm is unconstitutional, two Everett men argue in court action.By Jerry Cornfield

SEATTLE - Two Everett men filed suit Thursday to void the contract between Snohomish County and the maker of its electronic voting machines, claiming the deal illegally shifts control of vote counting from the public to a private company.

Paul Lehto and John Wells allege in their suit that the contract between Snohomish County and Sequoia Voting Systems violates the U.S. Constitution by altering the right of citizens to an open and transparent election.

and it's permanently linked on the solarbus home page under "be the media".

it's something every American who cares about democracy should read.

Many thanks to Ellen for putting it together!!

My only wish is that it took it one step further and somehow estimated which candidate benefited from the various "messups" and by how much.

It's obviously written in "non-partisan" tone, for good reason. it's an attack on electronic voting, not a accusation of election fraud.

24. I don't think we have one yet
WE have a lot on exit polls.

We have a lot on problems with electronic voting.

We have a lot on Ohio shenanigans.

I don't think we have a document that summarizes e-voting problems in the 2004 election, with a slant towards how they affected the election overall.

As an example, RH Phillip's document on voting irregularities in OH and estimations of how many votes were affected is excellent:

http://www.freepress.org/images/departments/Vote_Count_Ohio.pdf

and LandShark's investigation into Snohomish County irregularities is also excellent.

I'd like to see something like these, a summary doc, but outlining voting irregularities nationwide. But it needs to be "partisan" estimating how many votes were switched from K to B, etc, how many K supporters were disenfranchised by whatever means.

That is what I'd like to give to foreign diplomats, and foreign journalists too.

25. Thanks, garybeck for your excellent assessment of this.
We need to get busy on it. This is an excellent time to begin writing to the foreign ambassadors, and maybe even if some DU'ers or others from those lands write also, it will have the effect of a one-two punch, or double whammy: hearing about election fraud concerns both from Americans and citizens of their own countries at a time when the fraudulent nature of this administration is becoming more and more obvious in the world.

31. ambassador double whammy
Already happening.

I printed off some letters to the Irish foreign minister (equivalent to US Secretary of State) today and got some students at the university nearby to write their addresses on top and sign at the bottom. And I'll send them in to the foreign ministry. The students were delighted that somebody had made it so easy for them.

At the same time, I am led to believe that one Ojai Person has been writing my country's ambassador to the US of A, asking him (also) to urge my government to use its influence to support USCV's call for an investigation of the exit poll discrepancies. The ambassador will presumably communicate this to the foreign ministry. (But no harm reminding him, if anybody feels like volunteering!)

Here's a list of foreign ambassadors to the US:

Hey! How about asking the Ukrainians to intervene to save American democracy? :)

Dear Mr. Wycliff,

Instead of your asking Tribune national correspondent Tim Jones his opinion, I would heartily suggest that you do a minimal amount of research on the issues of the November 2004 (s)election and the question will not be Nixon's morality, but BushCo's immorality.

These are the things known about prior to the 2004 election (really):

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing, those who count the votes decide everything." - Joseph Stalin...
