Something I'm wondering with Mr. Pastor
I'm wondering. Why do you think Mr. Pastor gave in and is talking with John Conyers? I'm very happy and thankful for the news but I was just wondering what's up and why he was giving in?

1. Maybe those 6 or 7 people helped convince him...
I trust Conyers with this issue more than any of the people on the committee. I believe that he will raise the important issues and he will let the public know the true state of affairs.

I'm hoping that our email, phone calls and faxes made Mr. Pastor realize that there was a constituency that was demanding representation. Of course, this could just be my naive point of view.

6. I think so, too. I think he was embarrassed, after realizing the damage
he has done to himself by calling Brad and going ballistic over the 6-7 people mass mailing a protest.

4.  I think because of
all the pressure put on him,And I really believe there are people on that commission, who really believe they are helping with election reform, and just don't know the FACTS.Its not who vote's,its who counts the votes.Right now its still the TABULATORS!

5. He may be an Honest man...
...who really hasn't yet come to terms with the idea of Electoral Theft on a National Level...Lots of good Fellow-Countrymen out there on that particular horse.

7. I don't think it was because he wants it.
Pastor used to be a pretty decent guy, but it is looking more and more likely they got to him, and like Deforrest Soaries, he is just doing this to get his paycheck.

If he actually wants to expose the truth about election fraud, he probably would come out and be vocal.

9. Sounds right
Sounds right because of the weird interview with BradBlog and how he didn't answer on if Bush really won. Sounds like he's under a lot of pressure from both sides. I just hope in the end he does the right thing. It's a start from taking Conyers on. I wish they could also talk to Cliff Arnebeck. And that could work since technically he is a republican. ;)

8. It would be interesting to find out how many people VR in fact represents!
With all the other organizations listed there. Admittedly we are signed up to a few, there must be duplicate numbers.

10. Maybe it was my email
Seriously I'd love to think I had that kind of impact but we all know it was because of the combined efforts from all of us.

I did get a reply from Pastor 14 minutes after I hit send (at 9:54 PM PACIFIC time). Pastor was obviously working late and I was shocked to say the least about getting a response. I posted my email to Pastor here.

Here's Pastor's reply.

Ms.xxx,

I share your concern with the electoral system.  That's why I'm working so hard - not to defend it - but to change it.   That's the purpose of the Commission.   I've been working at it for nearly 30 years, most of that time with President Carter.   Regardless of Friedman, and the way he twisted the phone call, I will continue.

Dr. Robert A. Pastor

............

My guess is that Pastor is your typical nice guy Democrat trying to listen to every side of the issue. He got into this commission with the real desire to work towards positive change but he completely underestimated the evidence against Baker, the 2004 election and those of us who have passionately followed the issue.

I sent my email and Pastor's response to Brad Friedman. He replied stating "For the record, the conversation wasn't "twisted" at all." I believe Brad. I think Pastor reacted poorly to a situation he hadn't planned for. He recognizes his mistake and has shown a desire to make things right by meeting with Mr. Conyers. I want to be hopeful about this development. We need Pastor on our side.
