3. Had a good interview this morning, but won't know for a couple of
weeks if I got the job.
I'll still keep applying.
I'm getting interviews this time around - which wasn't the case when I tried to re-enter the work force after my divorce (I was a stay-at-home Mom for two years, but I still freelanced).
I have another appointment at the Career Center on Wednesday, too.

. . . Are you trying freelance while you're waiting to hear from these people you're applying to?

9. I have applied to a couple of places, but I haven't heard anything
The woman I used to work for at the local newspaper retired and I don't know anyone there, now, to start right off the bat like I did last time. I'd probably have to wait just as long to get on there as I would to wait on a full time job.
Besides, I spend most of my time looking for work, right now. I blog in the evenings, but, after munchkin goes to bed, I'll be back searching websites.
I re-write my resume to exactly fit each job to which I'm applying, so it takes longer (but also may be why I'm getting more interviews).

5. Hi Clark and Whirls
and anyone else that shows up while I am typing.

Glad to hear the interview went well but would much rather of heard I have the job Clark. What is wrong with these people, do they not see you are the best choice? They should just say forget it to all other scheduled people and hire you before they lose the chance.

Gizmo is doing much better and almost walking normal. Will see the vet again Tues. unless he takes a sudden turn for the worst. Then the vet will decide on when to cut him open and snoop around his belly.

I knew it on the baseball game. Keef is in DC.

12. Posted this earlier in the clubhouse
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=315&topic_id=2525&mesg_id=2525

Just realized today is the Nationals season opener in DC...the very first home game since hell I can't remember when. With Keith being such a big baseball fan and collector, I wonder is this a baseball vacation. Can see him hopping a plane (tickets already in hand) to DC (or even on the train) ready to attend a historic baseball event. Plenty of cash in his pocket for the first program, first anything they will have to save for the future. Since Keith doesn't think baseball is a sport but the air you breathe (and I was raised by one of those and still amazed my mom isn't there today) Now to call mom and see if the Nationals game will be televised in my area...and watch for Keith.

Then Alison said a bit ago that Keith was on assignment...but not really he is at a baseball game.

16. Hey, wasn't that KO's voice on the #2 Sound Bite??
Did everyone see the "Hard Boil" sound bite? With Matthews trying to talk from the baseball stadium and meanwhile there was someone behind him dressed up like a giant egg bouncing around? And whoever was interviewing him commented on how hard it must be to talk with someone dressed like an egg behind you? That sounded like KO to me. Whaddaya wanna bet he was on the network earlier doing interviews at the game? Waah!

24. I guess this is our warning...
...if MSNBC does any more Nationals coverage, better tune in just in case.

"See you Monday." Yeah right!

I think Keef has been a naughty boy, telling us he was taking off and implying it was just because he'd be working the papal election next week, when the truth is that like a little boy skipping school he has run off to a baseball game. Shame, shame!

48. Well I have to work tomorrow
when I usually don't work Friday's but the guy that covered for me Wen. needs off and it lets me get my hours this week after all. So have to find Gizmo and cage him though he hates it. (being careful so he doesn't hurt himself. Then tuck in all the rest of the zoo crew, remind the hub to let the dogs out when he gets home sometime tonight and get a full nights sleep finally.

Ummmm wanted to point out, no Rev, no men again. Wonder what's up in the boiler room?

Everyone have a good night and a great day tomorrow. Wouldn't worry about Keith going off to many more Nationals games unless they get in a pennant race then the Series. Though might have to check the Yankees schedule to see when he will be taking possible vacation days.

Single floor cage for the Giz these days.

78. As I keep turning up more info, what I keep coming back to is this:
The part I understand the least is why a human influenza virus - even if it wasn't thought to be very dangerous - was passed from one company to another company and then to Meridian Bioscience and then was put into a commercial testing kit and shipped worldwide without ever being typed or having its identity confirmed.

This does not make sense at all, especially at a company that had already revamped its regulatory compliance with respect to less iimportant things like citing storage temp and expiration date. If you have any experience of biotech QA/QC, you know this is the opposite of the way things really work. It's insane!

To me, it keeps coming back to this. It does not make sense at all as an accident.

Over in the thread people are heading into the conspiracy stratosphere, and the data are just not in one way or the other. The volume needs to be adjusted from siren/shrill to something that will promote good, thorough and transparent investigation into what did happen.

107. I agree, but that's the reason why companies have QA/QC and report
in detail to the FDA. I have personally written at least a 3-4 inches thick stack of paper - I don't mean just forms, I mean WRITING, for submission to the FDA. As I found and posted in one of the replies on that thread, this company was already slapped down in a MAJOR way that must have almost put them under in 2000-2001 for regulatory viiolations. As a result, they totally revamped their regulatory compliance dept and somehow managed to save the company.

But getting a virus that is a human pathogen THIRD HAND and then putting it into a strictly reguated kit for international shipment WITHOUT TYPING THE VIRUS is beyond belief. Beyond mere sloppiness. That's one of the points I get stuck on.

Another is this: how can we be sure that ALL of those 4000 or so (that we know of) kits shipped all over the world have that vial removed and destroyed? Terrorists or blackmailers, I would think, would like to get their hands on even one. (You can grow up more virus.) How do we know what happens to them all?
:scared:
