I just spoke with her (she has her cell phone in the rehab unit). She sounds upbeat and happy - and, she's going back to her apartment on Friday. Plus, she's had LOTS of visitors (I love their community).

You doing good today? :toast:

83. That is just wonderful news.
I'm so glad to hear things are better! It's nice that they have such a strong community. If DU's taught us anything, it's that there's nothing better for perking up the spirit and enriching the soul than a group of people who look out for each other.

I'm doing very well, thanks. I've been busy at work because I'm trying to get everything lined up before the Grand Tour. :)

Finally let him out of the cage for a while. They aren't used to being caged much and swear he thought he was being punished. He has been good at getting to newspaper to potty (next to the litter box). The box is beyond him for now. But better in that he has perked up. He looks funny hopping but much better then him dragging his hind end.

And hi everyone. That came in as I type.

shows promise of maybe even reaching his Strato-atmospheric Snark level some day if some creep doesn't push her over to the Bimbo Track because of her looks. And she's sure in the right place to get some pointers!

Good evening to you, Sparky - hope all's well in Northampton. I'm stepping out for a while now and will check back later to see how things go in tonight's thread. In the meantime, have one on me:

62. Well, Tuesday could have been better.
You know that commercial where everyone is pleased as punch to have a screening colonoscopy? Don't drink that koolaid, EDV's! After a day and a half of no solid food and the prep (don't ask!) zero hour came. The procedure went well and my colon is extra fine so I was extremely happy to be thru with. As we drove away I said to my mother: "I've forgotten my glasses." So we went back and she went in to get them. After a while she came back with the nurse and the nurse said, "We can't find your glasses inside, the other nurse said she put your glasses in one of your shoes. Let's look in there." Well, folks, I have plastic leg braces that fit up under my feet soooooooooooo I did'nt feel my glasses in my left shoe. My poor glasses were smashed to pieces. Needless to say, my good mood evaporated! Naughty KO taking three days vaco was the icing on the cake.

to replace your glasses. Who on earth would put glasses in shoes (guess someone that has never needed them). I went through that torture not too long ago. During the actual colonoscopy they knocked me out and therefore wasn't bad but the prep is torture. There is a reason they call it Fleet. Have talked to people that weren't knocked out and no way would they come near me if I were conscious.

And I'm sure they were impressed with the linen eyepatch, such understated elegance. ;)

Couldn't imagine such things happening in my mom's day (she's in her eighties). Who knows -- since nobody talked about what they were doing back then.

Oh well...

160. I didn't have enough milk for that :-(
I have thyroid disease and did mighty combat for every drop. Got up in the middle of the night to pump extra milk for months after my daughter gave up that feeding, pumped after every nursing, etc., etc. It was actually kind of scary, the first time I went on a business trip and deliberately left the pump behind!

Although I will say that the flavor and aroma (think melted vanilla ice cream) perpetually hovered around my person and was certainly well received. And a certain amount of leaking is normal at times and didn't seem to be off-putting, either.

That aroma thing... Sure sounds like nature planned it that way, doesn't it?-- maybe to keep couples together. So maybe the practice I read of is more common than anyone is aware of.

168. I don't know if she appreciated it, but I did. There's not much
you can give a small baby in the way of medicine when they're sick, but you can give 'em antibodies. She got sick, I got it, within a day she had mama's antibodies and was already getting better. She had her share of colds, but they didn't seem to last as long nor be as bad as the illnesses some of the other kids had.

As for the other thing -- heck, if I'd had more milk, I wouldn't have begrudged hubby a regular snack. Just another way to redeem those frequent flyer miles. ;-)

Sparky would not want to be wearing baggy pants or the ferrets might crawl up his leg and nip the first thing they find. Actually only the first two ever did that and they were babies then, and learned not to very fast. What a man gets for sitting on a floor in baggy shorts and nothing else to protect himself. The man has also learned ferrets crawling up pant/short legs is not so very funny after all. I thought it was hilarious and couldn't stop laughing. The man didn't appreciate that either.

Roo (the fenine) HATES thunder. He growls (which is quite a feat), and thrashes his tail, before he ducks into the nearest closet.

. . . She's either the villainess who decieved KO and tried to steal him away from the EDVs so she could keep him all for herself -- (my concept)--

Or else she was the look-alike heroine who saved my life by standing in for me, thus earning her poetic Viking sendoff and sonorous tribute by KO. (bleever's concept.)

We'll have to see how this all gets sorted out -- before they start shooting the miniseries.

107. Anybody else here NOT give a shit about Britney?
The only good thing I can say about her is that "Britney Spears" is an anagram of "Presbyterian" (and I'm sure they're not too happy about that).

Who discovered that? Did God's frozen people get tired of playing "between the sheets" during choir practice and start fiddling with anagrams instead?

I think the world might survive the papal transition, as long as minds like these are at work.

Chin up, everyone. Chin up.

I "anagrammed" my RL name and got some rather fascinating results:

Ham Turnover, Arthur Venom, Tarn Her Ovum, and my all-time favorite: TAVERN HUMOR!!

And...Don Adams, doing one of my favorite characters ever:

Thomas Jefferson: God bless him.

(And I do like Lyle Waggoner too, but I couldn't remember a line verbatim, though he definitely had the best legs in that one contest on the Carol Burnett Show.)
