Many of you who know me know that I believe there was massive election fraud in the 2004 (and 2000) elections. I was pretty active on DU especially right before and after the 2004 elections.
I truly believe that election reform is a fight that I need to join.
I have been working with others from this board to start VOTE, Voters for Open and Transparent Elections.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VOTE_Group/ We are doing well although going a bit slow. This is not necessarily a bad thing. We have a bit of money (not much), some great folks working for free to get our website up and get our database designed and running.
(Our database will be a central repository for election fraud articles, research papers, election fraud information, media contacts including international, governmental contacts from President down to dogcatcher, other groups working for election reform, contact information for Greens, Libs, Dems, Progressives, election reform bills and - hopefully - a calendar of pending meetups, protests, rallies, etc. I want VOTE to link all of the existing election reform groups together and empower folks to fight. When people think election reform resources, I want them to come to one, centralized location: VOTE's database.)
I am humbled and blessed to be working with such great folks. I am also humbled when I get to speak to leaders of other groups who are fighting the good fight. I am amazed at how many people are working for election reform and for election justice.
As some of you may not know, I have been unemployed since Jan. 7th. The economy is so
great that I have had only two prospects since then. This does hinder one's ability to kick election fraud ass. x( I am not giving up on election reform but hope to find a job soon so that I can funnel more money into VOTE.
The future holds more work on election reform. It holds more hard work and asking strangers for help and guidance. It holds more faxing, calling, emailing and writing.
I guess the purpose of this post is to reacquaint myself with DU, introduce myself to the newer DUers and let everyone know what VOTE has been doing.
Again, I have been so humbled and honored to work with DUers. I have seen more heart, more conviction, more willingness to work for something passionately than at any other place on the web. I hope that we can all continue to work together for election reform.
If not us, who? If not now, when?
Our cause is just and right. We will prevail.
