yesterday there was a town hall meeting about social security hosted by jan schakowsky, with barack obama and dick durbin. (great meeting, huge, rowdy crowd. i will put a report up in the illinois forum in a little while)
i hung around afterward, hawking buttons, and thus got a chance to talk to jan for a couple of minutes. i got to shake her hand and thank her for standing up for the truth about ohio. talk about make your day. (also got to shake durbin's hand, and touch obama as he walked by.)
her assistant had told me earlier that she had been flooded with requests from her constituents. she told me she felt very lucky to be so strongly supported by such a progressive district.
so happy to be in such a blue place.
