Just got a support email from Bob Fitrakis, et. al. thanking me for my donation to the Ohio Legal Defense Fund. So far, they've raised about $19k, but as many know, in contesting the sanctions, they've been able to enter their evidence into the public record.

First, I was always donating to Kerry to help him win, then after the election, I was donating to the Greens and to the Dems in Ohio and to Ralph Nader in New Hampshire, now I've donated to Kerry, Barbara Boxer and the DNC plus this, I'd like it a lot better if there was a war chest here where we could donate based on the wise decisions of some of the great minds here, and I agree with you especially when I heard that the DNC collected a huge amount of donations in November after the election. I'm hoping that Dean will help with this. PS I drive an old Hyundai so I'm not Miss Warbucks!

5. We must realize the the power of grassroots donation.

Until we realize the financial strength of the grassroots, we will never be able to match the ubercorporate coffers of the GOP.

If we Democrats budgeted regular donations the way Republicans do, regardless of the amount, we'd be in a whole different place.

Candidates' money is not grassroots money.

Grassroots money can be laser-targeted at short notice, to grassroots causes!

What helps these groups is regular donations... that way they can plan their budgets better, as the $ is more evenly distributed week-to-week.

Met Bob and the crew in Columbus on December 4th and then again in Washington on January 5-6. I contributed to the CICJ Election Protection Effort, to the Ohio Sanctions Legal Defense and bought a subscription to the Free Press too. And I'd do it again in an New York minute. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned.
