Trying to dig into this CNN article from Jan 6.
I'm trying to find the source of a statement in a CNN article. Any folks out there have any ideas on this?

Here's the article link:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/ALLPOLITICS/01/06/electoral.vote

Here's what I sent to CNN.com's feedback:

In the article "Bush carries Electoral College after delay" from 1/6/05, this statement is made:

"Republicans dismissed the effort as a stunt, noting that specific allegations of voting problems in Ohio have been investigated by journalists and, the Republicans said, found to be untrue."

As a reader, I would like to know which Republican(s) noted that specific allegations of voting problems in Ohio have been investigated by journalists, and in what context. I have been unable to find a reference to this in the Congressional Record for 1/6/05.

I am trying to find out which specific allegations and which journalists the Republican(s) meant. Without this information, the statement is practically devoid of any useful information.

Without knowing who said this and when, I have little chance at discovering this myself. The author of this story, presumably, either heard this first-hand or was in a position to seek out the specifics on this.

Please let me know what you find out.

2. I think they were talking about how most of the Republicans
spent a lot of time quoting different Ohio Editorials to defend the fact that the election was not all that bad. One republican even read the Editorial where the journalist asked Tubbs-Jones to not stand up. (They must not of had any original, well thought out evidence to speak about,)

3. I'm pretty sure they were referencing Op-Ed pieces.
Not real journalism.

4. Good catch
The disinformation and lies spewing from the opposition is enabled by a complicit press.

5. I remember there were several (10 or less) articles...
...about fraud in the New York Times and WP over a 2 month period that mentioned fraud - never more than a paragraph. All were negative to our side. Specific allegations were brought up and shot down. You should be able to find some of this using Google or NYT, WP search engine. Also, there is a version of LexisNexis that is free now. It's called LexisNexis AlaCarte. It's here: http://www.lexisnexis.com/news/

Also, our Exit Poll 'theories' were examined by several experts and shot down. That's still happenning by the way. This received some coverage as well.

I think the most notable recent press attack on our allegations comes from sources that are no friend to George Bush - ALTERNET.ORG and TOMPAINE.COM
