Dear Democratic Senators and Representatives:

You didn't do what we asked.

We asked you to OBJECT TO THE CERTIFICATION.

Many of you who stood, tried to compromise with us. One of you outright DEFIED us.

We don't accept your "triangulation" or your defiance.

Only those who OBJECTED TO CERTIFICATION get any credit from our movement.

5. I think that's right. They won't do it on their own. They have to
be pushed like boulders.

If we could stop bickering for a moment, we should be emailing all again and saying just that.

And Nancy Pelosi just lost me for good. First Roemer, now this.

12. Thank you.
We should let them know that we appreciate their comments regarding the need for reform, but that the request was for them to object to the certification.

6. at this point, 'your' movement is not 'our' movement.
Express your opinions, but you don't speak for the Dems.

16. Maybe the original poster wasn't speaking for the Dems,
but for the Liberals. Today showed us that there is a difference between the two. Liberals fight, Dems bend to the freeps.

10. Not only us ...
... but they really left Boxer out there swinging in the wind by herself. Unless my (Dem) Senators can miraculously pass Election Reform ( good luck! ), I won't be contributing one red cent to their re-election campaigns. This may be playing right into Karl Roves hands, but if our votes are not going to be counted anyway... why bother ?! First things first, ya know ? Gotta hand it to the Repubs, at least they know the meaning of Solidarity! Good on ya Barbara Boxer ... all the rest, SHAME ON YOU!

11. Bunker mentality abounds
I have been posting to the MoveOn forum about these issues up to and during the joint session. While some agreed with the objection (!), I was surprised at the amount of hesitation, the fear of taking the wrong posture. It was sort of sad -- remembering how rambunctious everyone was before the election.

21. If you don't agree, fine; however, remember:
they are supposed to represent us. And OUR request was QUITE CLEAR. The request was that they OBJECT TO THE CERTIFICATION.

22. I never made that request
I actually made no request, because I was afraid today would turn into a circus. Thankfully, I was wrong. The way they handled it was perfectly.

And as far as I could see, most people were just looking for one senator to object. That's what happened. The issue was highlighted. Now, pass some meaningful legislation so this never is an issue again.

24. Well if you made NO request, then you have nothing to complain about.
As I understood the mission from many of the groups that asked us to solicit the senators, we were to request that they object. This is what I did, and so I have a problem with those who did not object.

25. I'll join you. But....
...remember that these dem leaders have rolled over for the last 4 years. It's like expecting the media to report negatively on WH problems. Won't happen.

Those of us who had high expectations (normal expectations) for our leaders were harboring hopes based on what should be, not what is.

I am disappointed in them...again.

27. ...and another thing
I'm beginning to take offense to people who have an unkind tone in their posts when countering statements made by fine people like you. Their tone is not worthy of DU.

Today is a very odd day.
