Can this area of DU now officially be called the ELECTION REFORM BOARD?
Not to step on any toes here, but I would like to be able to know where to go to discuss this particular issue. I want time to digest all that has happened before I pick a candidate or another broader issue. My issue is ELECTION REFORM.

agenda.

16. Yes, along with the investigations and lawsuits.
The change is simple, really, in my mind. Get rid of MACHINES. Many countries use SIMPLE multi-colored slips of paper. Each color denotes a candidate and a yes or no vote on the issues. You simply choose the color ballot that you want to vote for. I would like to modify that a bit with some type of name, address, etc. verification on the ballot, but I do think it is easier to fix the problem of how, than to get the thugs to vote the damn machines out and to make the law simple, and UNIFORM throughout the nation.

4. Not a bad idea
But we should focus on striking down laws instead of enacting even more laws. We can start with gutting the Help America Vote Act.

6. Why not ask Skinner to start a new room...
for your subject? It sounds good, but there are still many people who want to chew over this topic.

7. Election Fraud Investigation & Reform
Are we really giving up on investigating the illegal action of Blackwell et.al? They were (are) so certain that they would (will) get away with stealing an election. I, for one, do not believe that he and the others should be allowed to walk as free men.

9. No, I don't want to give up election fraud investigation.
This is a much better idea. I don't want to fracture all this stuff all over the place and really, I need some direction. You guy's seem to be pretty good at pointing the way. My point was really that I want to keep this board going, but point it in the direction of reform. Investigating what happened would, IMO, be essential to that. I would still like to see BushCo go down for whatever part they played in this. I don't know how to get the important information to the right places and really am not sure with the new ethics rules HOW MUCH information and WHAT KIND of information we need to gather.

8. NO, there is still an investigation going on and lawsuits
Why should this end now? Just because B is going to be sworn in?

this needs to continue until all the evidence has been revealed, all the investigations are complete and all the lawsuits have been resolved.

Election reform a related issue but not the same issue

12. I believe it is the same issue.
How can we accomplish one without the other? I posted the same thing above. I don't want to stop investigating at all. I just want to funnel it all in the direction of ELECTION reform. I believe the voices on this board can accomplish the two together. I am new at this and would still like some direction. This is the board I found most useful to me.

19. I like "Election Fraud Investigation & Reform" - more expansive than
just 2004, and more specific than "Results and Discussion" or "Irregularities".
