12. We sent the DNC a message to take us off their mailing and donor lists.
I've contributed to the Greens since then. Now that I know I have no decent representation in Congress and my vote counts for shit, I'll be voting for the guy or gal I REALLY support. Might be a Dem, might be a Green. Who knows? Point is I feel ZERO connection with the Democratic Party any more.

15. Go down to your voter registration office and change your ...
party affiliation. Thats what I intend to do as soon as I get the chance.
Only one Senator voted no. Would it have killed them to stand up? What's the worst that could have happened? This makes it look like it's just a few crackpots and trouble makers are bitching and there is no legitimate problem.

34. Democratic Wuss Party
Why "fight" with elected Democrats who
roll over so easily?

They could have all STOOD UP for the disenfranchised
by throwing out the Ohio election, and asking for
a new Ohio election.

Dem Party is a party of Liebermans and Kerrys,
all talk, no spine.

Boxer and the House Dems are all that's left of the Party.

I would like to know how to cancel an automatic donation that comes monthly out of my bank account, which was arranged on the Dem website not at the bank?

I did send this email:

"I want my monthly donation canceled immediately. I am no longer a Democrat after 35 years of faithful service to this party. I will contribute to Barbara Boxer directly -- the only Democrat with balls."

17. party membership is both in terms of self identity and voter...
...registration. I changed my reg to the Green Party prior to the Nov 2 vote, and although I still support many democrats (Barbara Boxer among them), my sense of political identity is increasingly Green. I think the most important thing is to understand that one's political affiliation should be with ideals and principles rather than with a specific party. The party that best represents those principles should be the one that enjoys your affiliation.

There is a lot of happiness and well-won pride here in DC. Only on DU can a good day be turned to shit in five minutes flat.

I'm staying in the party as a result. But I'm still watching closely. We spoke out and played it smartly IMO - with the real truth coming out occasionally. Now we must keep the pressure on. I'm officially on the Boxer '08 bandwagon.

37. Try this:

http://freewebs.com/theconsumersparty

I went to a local Greens meeting and they not only didn't have any anti-corporate stance, their main concern was raising money.

You can't fight the corporatocracy by forming yet another corporation, and you can't get money out of politics by raising money to pour into it.

Political parties ask us for money so that they can use it to ask us for more money. Why not cut out the middleman, keep our money and vote our consciences? A party that wants money can be bought. And with corporatocracy, anything than can be bought, will be bought.

43. Yes!
This is exactly what we need to do. I thought about leaving the party for about .3 seconds, but realized that it is better (and "easier") to take back our party than join or form another. We can learn from what happened to the Republican Party, where activists on the right took it over after a period of years by running for local offices as well as national offices.

We can do this, and while not every one of us will run for local office (I intend to), we can support those who do.

How did it go, Nadin?

Sorry to everyone... I have been a loyal, proud and active Dem for 20 years... I voted for Boxer love her and support her - always will and my beautiful Congresspeople -- I'm tired and fighting the constant either apathy or the end of "Dems will never get balls..." (coming from my partner of 13 yrs - devoted Dem completely destroyed by Kerry's lose) I want to fight a battle worth fighting and with progressive kick asses like the Greens. Sorry guys this was my deal to myself to hold on to see what we could do... WE THE PEOPLE fought and our party lied down. They're complicit to the crimes of this white house. I will continue to use my art as my voice... I love you guys thanks for listening...

P.S. Please keep standing up for TRUTH.

42. This is the problem, there will be a repeat of 2000 (Nader) because of
the splintering. It took the repugs years to unite their party and now they present themselves as one ALL THE TIME, and that's why kick our ... everytime. This is why Moore did what he did!

45. All you have to do is
change your party affiliation to independant. Who you vote for can be determined later, but if there was a noticible flood of people changing from democrat to independant, that could put the fear of God in these congresscritters, especially if everyone writes Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid explaining what they just did and why!

51. I'm going over too, The Green Party represented us unlike the Dems
who sucked except for a few really brave people. Reality sucks though,it really does, life long Democrat that I am, but the Dems do not have our back nor do they stand for the strength in politics that a party needs to have to survive in DC. They lack of back bone that is why this is all happening to us, the party is dying right before our eyes because they kneel down to the Repubs time after time, so sorry for them too but oh well, they shot themselves in the foot this time.
