Senator Bill Nelson (D-Fl.) WON'T stand
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 06:23 PM by thecorrection
Sorry if this is old news...

http://www.bluelemur.com/index.php?p=525

<snip>
A Florida senator who a blog reported was considering challenging the election says he is not, a spokesperson told RAW STORY.

A source inside Senator Bill Nelson (D-Fl.) told The Brad Blog that the senator was seriously considering joining Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) in seeking to open discussion on the election results Jan. 6, when the Senate convenes to ratify the presidential election results.

Nelson’s press office, however, says the senator has decided against joining a congressional challenge absent conclusive evidence “to warrant overturning the results.”

1. Response to Nelson
Then do everything you can to get the dead wood out of office immediately!

- petitions for resignations
- recall efforts
- advertisments for resignations
- no confidence petitions
- protest them every time they come back to the state
- etc

If they dont stand up for us now they will never stand up for us. This is it. This is the line in the sand. They are are either with us or they are actively against the american citizenry!

WAKE UP! There is no next time! There is no get them back in 06!

Its about all of us little people being continually manipulated and used by our so called "leaders". They only lead when they have something to gain and are constantly no where to be found when we are in trouble.

They govern us by our consent and we need to step up and take back the reigns of power.

"Government is not reason and it is not eloquence. It is force! Like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action." -- George Washington

"If a society is to remain free, its government must be controlled." -- Ayn Rand

**During the Washington Supreme Court oral arguments on Governor Election, Justice Susan Owens spoke for all of us when she responded to attorney Korrel by saying...

"You're looking at it from the point of view of the winner or
the loser - shouldn't we be looking at it from the point of
view of the voter?" The lawyer was left speechless on air
for 20-30 seconds. -- Moments like this are priceless.

14. Members of Congress are NOT subject to recall
Petitions for resignations?

I'm sure that whoever Jeb appoints to replace Nelson will be an improvement, right?

2. nope, but he will crawl.
it's all about the percentages. ironic. they perfected this new wave of vote fraud in Florida, and he thinks by sitting this one out, he can safely run for re-election.

bill- sit this one out and you can kiss any chance you have of getting an honest election goodbye.

3. How many members are on DU?
I'm just wondering if we all defected from the DEM party how much difference that would make.

7. DU isn't big enough, alone, to change anything,
but it won't be just us. I've got a feeling that the Dems are going to take a hit, big time, if none of our senators have the cojones to take a stand on this. Do those damn fools want to completely alienate their base -- the people who were responsible for the huge GOTV effort, the bloggers, the progressives? Do they want to be relegated to the status of an impotent, irrelevant, permanent minority after all the pissed-off people like us snap their wallets shut and start hanging with the Greens or form a genuine progressive party? Political parties are born and die like all other institutions. Maybe it's time for the Democratic party and the irrelevant, gutless appeasers who run it to just ride off into the sunset and let people with actual spines take over.

10. the dems...
ARE different from the pugs in their platform, their positions, their beliefs.

but if they don't stand up for them, then that doens't really matter.

and it actually reinforces that piffle of Ralph Nader- that there isn't any difference b/t the two parties. I don't believe that, but when i turn around and ask dems to defend that positions ACTIVELY in the federal legislature, theiy're no where around.

12. Exactly.
It doesn't matter what noble positions they claim to support if they just let the Rethuglicans run over them every time, and don't actually stand up for what they say they believe.

16. I agree. They are out of touch and don't realize they are about
to lose the party activists if they don't stand up.

Fools.

13. ya know....
i was a delegate here in pinellas fla..kerry and edwards came here a bunch of times..i met nelson at many events beore this campaign..he knows me ..he knows who my hubby is ..and i was at 1000.00 luncheons etc...and spoke directly many times with nelson...this man is odd..very odd..he seems to never want to look you in the eye...i ran the vip sections for all the kerry rallys so i had to meet with and deal with all the senators and congress people..i sat next to janet reno at the convention..i sat next to corine brown and meeks,...all were very sweet..and they remember who you are and they acknowledge you..when they see you ...betty castor who was running for the senate ..everytime she saw me she hugged me..so did meeks..they all know me...and yet the last 2 times i saw nelson he didnt even attempt to act like he knew me..i have honestly talked to him, he has asked about my hubby..he spoke like he was very interested..then bammy the next time you see him..its like he never saw you before...i belong to the oldest womens dem club in the country..they all come and speak to us..i also belong to the biggest other dem club here..a very big club..and he has been there numerous times and i have even done public speaking before he spoke...nelson is a bit odd i feel in my gut...or he has a really bad memory..or is just plain out for himself and doesn't give a crap about his constituants...i can not put my finger on it ..other than to say..it surprises me not one bit that nelson wont stand up....but it will be his epitaph , there are blacks in tampa who will never forget that he let them down...they will never forget it!!
he also spoke out at almost every event about the machines and how the repugs were going to steal the election..yes he spoke of it loudly , and his cure all for it was..we need to get more voters out than the repugs...well we did ...we sure did ..and what the hell difference did it make senator nelson??
