They seemingly caused the Republicans to back down on their proposal to change the ethics rules. The bi-partisan 911 commission was on after that and they were just as angry at the changes the Republicans have made to that proposal. The Republicans cut virtually EVERYTHING useful out of that proposal and the commission isn't holding anything back there either. All this was on late at night on C-Span.
