1. well, that just about sums up how simple it was for the Repukes ...
snip...

"Alex Pelosi's new film "Diary of a Political Tourist" catches a tipsy Congressman Peter King making a comment at a White House function before the election had been finished that, "It's already over. The Election's over. We Won."
When Pelosi asks, "How do you know that?" King replies, "It's all over but the counting. And we'll take care of the counting."

2. excerpt? synopsis? hint?
something, anything to tell me what's there? I've really come to HATE it when people post "blind" links... especially those whose names I don't recognize... with all the web-based malicious programs out there, I don't like to click on just any old link... I mean, how hard is it to paste a couple of paragraphs?

23. Peter King: Rep. (3rd Congressional District, New York)
The 3rd is a district on western LI basically covering
western Nassau County up to Brooklyn and Queens.

King is an Irishman, I believe he was formerly sympathetic
to the IRA.

Irish in New York were formerly all Democrats, but
there's been an exodus of conservative Catholics
to the Republican party, ever since the great Roosevelt
North-South coalition was undone in the 50's and 60's.

That's Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly territory, and
King is, to some extent, cut from the same cloth.

You can look at the New York districts here.

From that area, I much prefer Carolyn McCarthy, Rep. (4th).

whether the author of the words be black-hearted or a regular mixture, like most of us.

I never initiated religious discussions when drinking in the army, but it almost invariably came up when I went for a drink, and we'd talk for a long time on the subject. I mean I was a Private IInd class, like Duane Dobermann (even worked in the motor pool!), so we're not talking the officers' mess, here!

early in the year, iirc. Or was it the 2000 Election?
She then travelled with the Dean and Kerry campaigns.

In any respect, it was certainly NOT Election Day 2004.

25. I had read that it was the summer of 2003.
"Your daughter, Alexandra, caught a moment in her latest film, "Diary of a Political Tourist," that sent chills down my spine! It bears a closer look. I'm sure you remember in the summer of 2003(!), at the annual White House BBQ, Alexandra queried a few of her former, Republican, traveling companions, asking if Bush is 'beatable'?. Pete King answered her, knowingly, dismissively; "It's already over - the election's over. We won!" Alexandra asks, "How do you know that?" King replies "It's all over except the counting - and we'll take care of the counting." In former times, I'd view that as political posturing or just bluster - but the way he says it is downright sinister! He telegraphs that he knows something we don't! He telegraphs that the Republicans have figured out how they're going to steal the election!"
http://www3.capwiz.com/usatoday/bio/userletter/?letter_id=113837626&content_dir=congressorg&POE=click-refer

and also this: (I didn't realize it was in an HBO documentary)

A HBO documentary aired on October 11, 2004 allegedly shows New York Congressman Pete King saying about the upcoming 2004 presidential election, "It's already over". "The elections over". "We won". "It's all over but the counting and we'll take care of the counting".

The documentary, 'Diary of a Political Tourist', by Alexandra Pelosi, chronicling her two-year road trip on the Democratic campaign trail. Pete King's statement was allegedly made sometime in this two year period.

29. Has Olbermann seen the King clip?
I know this has been around for a while, so I ask, has KO seen it? Do you think he would put it on his show? He will do weird things.

Of course King says he was fooling around, but when an election looks so fishy, to have said it like that also looks a little bit suspect.
