So the election was stolen, nobody cares. Nobody who can do anything legally about it, that is.
I'm reminded of the movie "Mississippi Burning." It's about the 3 civil rights workers who were killed in Mississippi, back in the 60's trying to help blacks register to vote.
A line in the movie that stands out goes something like this, "no white jury in the South is going to convict a white man of killing a (n word)."
Just as no republican is going to convict a Republican of stealing this election.
In the movie, the murderers were convicted by the federal government of violating the civil rights of the civil rights workers.
In our case the government stole the election so the government isn't going to convict those who stole the election either.
I think if we want to win an election in the future we have to think outside the box. To make this short, I think we need to work together, freeper and DUer, New Englander and Southerner, Atheist and Fundamentalist. The core values we would work toward is what's good for the country as a whole, or the common good based on our Constitution.
I'm sure this would be like trying to mix fire and water, but if we used people in the professions and developed computer models where we could put in any possible point of view and determine what the future for the country would be, possibly we could get enough people to form a voting block that could defeat what we are facing today. Of course we would have to get into the mainstream media and to do that I think we would have to adopt methods that were used in the civil rights movement and the anti war movement to get the attention. But we would not be democrat or republican but a conglomerate of people who want whats best for the country even though we would completely disagree on some issues.
I probably sound very naive to most of you but these are the thoughts that have come to me since the election.
