Here's a comforting thought....
Bush also set the record for having the "most votes against" an incumbent president.

1. I'm still hoping
I'm still hoping against hope that when all the votes are counted nationwide -- meaning absentee and provisional ballots -- Kerry will come very very close at least in the popular vote and maybe even pull ahead. It's probably a vain hope. But apparently over three million absentee votes remain to be counted from Oregon, Washington State and California -- all of which are Kerry country. Plus the provisional ballots clearly won't reverse Ohio, but could make it darned close.

3. :) I've been trying to post something similar,
but something is messed up so I can't start a thread (not even in the ask an administrator forum to ask what's up).

Gore won the popular vote in 2000, receiving only 50,999,897 votes. Kerry, with all of the votes not yet counted, received more than 55,400,000 votes. Our efforts increased the vote for sanity by about 10%.

It's just that the hatemongers rallied more of their extremists who do not usually vote around their hatred and bigotry by all of the anti-gay issues and pictures of dismembered babies.

4. As a side note
They increased the # of posts you have to have to 250 in order to start threads, to really cut down on disruptions.... bummer for a lot of people for a while, though.

6. That's Stupid
All that will do is cause people to toss in content-free posts until they hit the magic number. :eyes:

7. So I guess no one has done a better job at losing than Kerry
Basically, this means that Kerry had the best 2nd place showing in history
