It's what I always wanted. Even though Clark said he wasn't interested, he would've done it.

1. I agree with you and Clark would have accepted.

2. I love Clark, but no.
Clark/Kerry, yeah (although I came to admire Kerry). When you see otherwise intelligent people say that "Kerry is indecisive, Bush is decisive; we need a decisive leader at the helm" and such shit, then I am reminded of why I so wanted the relatively not-baggaged, decisive general/statesman to run instead of the Senator with 20 years of political baggage.

But the public does not vote for the VP, they vote for the POTUS.

4. Kerry was an excellent candidate
He didn't change the world, but he was a very strong candidate. He fought the fight we asked him to, and he stregthened us in the sane (blue) states.

3. of course he was interested...and you might be right
I do think Edwards wasn't the best coice...but he wasn't a bad one either.

I just don't think it was in the cards for us this time around. Our side made the 'error' of making Bush the focus of our campaign. I only realized today that red-state jihadists could give two shits about whether Bush was competent, reckless, etc. or not. They were driven entirely by social issues, which frankly, weren't even on the map for our side.

But here's the thing: we wanted, no insisted, on having a candidate that took the fight to Bush, as well we should have. Any other year that would have been the correct strategy, and we'd be talking about President-Elect Kerry right now. But this year was a cultural jihad, and we had no idea.

Boy, there are going to be some seriously disillusioned jihadists in 2008 when they see there is no constitutional ban on gay marriage, abortion is still legal, and the 10 Commandments isn't posted in every school room.

We fough the good fight, and we should be very happy with our results in the sane states. These jihadists will melt back into the landscape soon when they find out 'Judge' Roy Moore won't be sitting on the Supreme Court anytime soon, and we can go back to having a somewhat sane electorate.

5. Changing the bottom of the ticket wouldn't have helped.

6. well
I still can't figure out what Edwards did for the ticket. Can't think of a single state he delivered. The entire damn South is deep Red.

7.  Edwards can state concepts simply and because things
are the way they are now people are more responsive to simple sound bites they can remember. I read that bit recently I can't remember where.
They also wrote that Bush speaks in simple sentences that are easily understood and that for some people that means the person is straightforward. He is not, but perception is everything.
