LISTEN UP GUYS... I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY TO ALL OF YOU!!!
This is a little of a long post.

I know I am one of the quieter guys here on Democratic Underground... I usually talk about movies, music, sports, and other meaningless shit, but I have some important things to say...

1. First of all, is there any reasonably solid evidence that there was voter fraud in Ohio, Florida, or any other swing states? If there is, don't keep quiet... let your voice be heard! Shout it out from the highest rooftops! Yes, the Republicans will call us sore losers, but what should we expect? I mean, if they don't respond at all, then they are just admitting that they did wrong... they have to reply with something! Besides, when something is repeated often enough, when it is "in the air," it reaches everyone... through conversations, through TV, through osmosis (no, really...).

After a while... AND BELIEVE ME... it will become "common knowledge" that Bush won this election through fraud. Almost EVERYONE will believe it.

But first lets make sure that there was voting fraud.

2. Once Bush's second term officially begins this January, we are going to have to face reality and move on. We can't get him impeached... the Republicans control Congress right now... he wouldn't be impeached if videotaped evidence showed him engaging in a felony...

3. As a famous coach once said (was it Lombardi?), its not whether you fall down, its whether you get back up... so we need to pick ourselves up and start at the bottom.

We need to:
A. Work as hard as we can to get Democratic candidates elected at the city and county level.
B. Work as hard as we can to get Democrats elected at the state level.
C. THEN we must begin to take back the U.S. House of Representatives.

They say in order to learn how to fly, you must learn to crawl and walk first... lets review crawling and walking...

4. We CANNOT fight the conservative bias in the media only around election time. It must be fought on a monthly, weekly, and if you have the time, daily basis. If you see a news report on TV or a newspaper article that does not present both sides fairly, let that TV station and/or newspaper know. As mentioned above, through constant work, it will become "common knowledge" to EVERYONE that the news has a conservative bias to it.

5. Lets start building a solid party platform and decide on things that we all agree on and things we can all stand for. Like them or hate them, the average politically informed person can state in a nutshell what the Republican party stands for. Lets be honest... can the average citizen state what the Democratic party stands for?

6. Lets stop all this fucking bullshit about moving to Canada or Mexico or England... I know a lot of you are joking when you say that, but that is the kind of stuff the political right wants to hear.

7. We must devote a lot of time and resources to getting rid of DIEBOLD VOTING MACHINES IN THIS COUNTRY! I don't think this needs further explanation.

8. We have to turn the terrorism issue AGAINST Bush... How?... well, good question...

I can't think of anything else at the moment...

Peace,

8. Venezuela
Same media, same minority thugs, same black bag bad guys. They take to street knowing some will die. They demonstrate more than any crowd you could whip up in LA or NYC. They shout back. They keep up the pressure. the other side twists and turns like a snake. The majority persists.

And this for a strong man, a common man, they know will fight for them.

No wonder they get to keep their democracy under siege.

We have not physically suffered enough. We are not accustomed to hardball. We get the same enemies the same rough treatment. WE are no longer there. WE have no democracy. If we were a smaller country you could kiss those consolation prizes and opportunities to raise up Obamas goodbye.

The myths are not protecting us from the cold fact we have indeed entered the stage where tragic violent revolution or at least massive and constant street action(can you take it?) are the the last options. Allow me to doubt if we ever react that way no matter how bad it gets. The running away option from a nation that determines the fate of Venezuelas AND Canada is not even a decent cop out. BBV programming came from Canadian felons. Parts still do. The counting parts.

If someone can convince Canada not to go Diebold, you can join a small list of the wise and patriotic.

3. I wholeheartedly agree
And this is exactly what I'm going to do.

This afternoon I signed up to volunteer for a runoff candidate. I'm going to get involved with my local Democratic party in all forms. I sought them out for the Kerry/Edwards campaign, but half the reason the repukes have done so well is that they have spent the last 30 years solidifying a grass roots base.
Hell no wonder they can steal shit when there are R mayors, Attorney Generals, Sec States, Councilmen, Sherrifs, its all complicit.
We need to build a movement to fight to regain those positions.

The media thing. Well I'll help, but since I think its going to be several months before I can watch anything newsish, other than the daily show, or read the newspaper, it may be a while before I start seeing shit that pisses me off.

4. The media bias
thing will not work where I am. I am in Texas. Any time anyone sees even a mild criticism of ** in the media here, they cry foul and claim persecution by the "liberal media." I know because I field the complaints. We are very close to a "no tolerance of dissent against the Chimperor" mentality here.

The 'bots on the GOP side will always feed this persecution complex. They enjoy the feeling that they are under siege. In fact, they are under siege from "reality-based" commentary. They live in a fantasy world. And they just won the election.

5. Screw the big tent! It's burning, and we're inside it.
I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I have traditionally called myself moderate, but I am shuddering today to think I have any conservative tendencies. I'm feeling as bad as everyone today, and if we go in a Fascist direction, I'm frankly scared to death because I have been involved in protesting the war. Like a lot of people on this site are likely doing, I'm really starting to wonder what government files my name might be in.

Anyway, my only hope now, and it is faint, is that this disaster can serve to unite progressives as never before. It has been said, "united we stand, and divided we fall." Well, I think the Democratic "big tent" has divided us, and we have fallen. The Democrats have taken on too many issues--the environment, gay marriage, the pro-choice movement, etc. In my opinion, if we are to have any chance, we most go back to being strictly a populist movement, and we must do this with a VENGEANCE!!! Put on hold all politics that are based on who you happen to be screwing or what bird you want to save, and work, strive, fight with all your might the encroachment of the Republican fascism. We must work for civil liberty, and we must work to make sure every American has the right to decent healthcare. We must not involve ourselves with foreign entanglements. Damn! Damn! Damn!

Sorry, I'm rambling. Anyway, the biggest issue people said in the exit polls motivated them in voting was "moral values." The Republicans have successfully managed to label the Democrats "immoral" "unAmerican," etc. Because they have done this, and we have lost the election, they will be able to go through with their hideous plans of priviticizing everything and making education and oportunity available only to the wealthy. If we can stick to strictly populist stances and fight, fight, fight, the Republicans, hopefully, will not be able to win on "moral issues" any longer. The Republicans have used moral issues to get the very people they're screwing, the poor and the working class to vote for them. I'm frustrated, mad, scared, and I feel helpless. Please excuse the excesses of my post, and give me feedback. What can we do???

7. It will NOT be 'common knowledge' that voter fraud prevailed
because we ended up with a gutless wonder who quit BEFORE IT COULD BE INVESTIGATED. It will go no further than that. Oh, sure, there'll be rumours and propaganda, stories and theories, but all that will be totally irrelevant because there will now be no formal investigation. Hell, I'll bet Michael Moore is shitcanning miles of Florida footage as we speak out of pure disgust, and out of the certain knowledge that it will be deemed irrelevant.

What a thorough waste of the time, effort, and sweat of so many people. Fraud, my ass. Kerry was a ringer, pure and simple.

9. explain how
How are we suppose to get our people elected when the voting is rigged? Even if we get rided of the Diebold voting machines, they will another way?

No matter if we do everything that is listed, it means Jack Squat, they will just steal it from us anyway.

Thats the big point that people are forgetting.
