What's the point in making the Democratic party look "obstructionist," so that we're at a disadvantage in the spin war over blocking Bush nominees?

I trust Kerry - if he says that the votes weren't there in Ohio, they weren't there. It's apparently mathematically impossible for there to be a win. So what's he supposed to do? Harm the Democratic Party, tilting at windmills?

and with the no reciept BBV even gross irregularities are not auditable.

4. As am I. But it's not even close to enough evidence.
I believe that the exit polling was correct. But I can't prove it. No one can. So we're fucked, until we fix the system.

6. Let's try and prove it before giving up
That's all I would want. It's the early surrender that is so hard. I hope it's just a tactic. It doesn't make any sense otherwise.

7. Because Obstructing Is All We Have Left
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 02:22 PM by AndyTiedye
We have just barely enough votes in the Senate left to do a filibuster.
Maybe.

There will be no Democratic initiatives, anything we introduce in DC
is DOA.

All we can do is try to slow down the fascist juggernaut a bit.

8. Exactly. So don't waste capital tilting at windmills.
Discretion is the better part of valor.

9. *sigh* Sorry, but I feel
you are missing the stakes here.

By quitting without a fight, the depth of the Republican's illegal activities in vote suppression become moot. We have a moral and ethical responsibility to be obstructionists if that is the only way the truth is going to come out.

Folks, it is 1861, and we just conceded to the Confederacy. We should have had the spine to say, "No, this shall not stand! No matter what the cost, THIS SHALL NOT STAND."

Kerry babbles about not dividing the nation, but folks, that is what we needed to do. The bad guys won without a shot being fired. They are now emboldened to do as they please, to whomever they please, whenever they please. Who's going to stop them?

This will be the point that folks will look back on as the pivotal moment in American history. This is where they will look when they try to explain the pogroms, death camps and wars of imperial expansion that are coming.

That is, if there is a future. Kerry and 51% of the American people just handed Bush the keys to the American military machine, bristling with atomic weapons and said, "Knock yourself out, frat boy. We need to get the Rapture started."

It would have been a far better thing for us to have fought a bloody civil war on our own shores than to unleash the monster that is George W. Bush on humanity.

If we survive, we will understand how the German people felt when people asked them "How could you let Hitler happen? Didn't you SEE he was a mad man?"
