Will the DLC be the death of the Party?
I think if something isn't done to wrench the Democratic party away from its influence, it will be.

The party needs to get back to its progressive roots and jettison the corporatist, Republican-lite policies of the DLC.

We've known nothing but the stench of defeat since we started doing things their way.

6. you've got that right....
Already changed. I was a dem for almost 30 voting years, but I switched to the greens when Kerry became a pro-war candidate.

The REALLY sad part is that this lesson will not be learned. Here's my prediction for the 2008 election: another dem candidate who's center-right and who tries to out trick the republican pony. Bookmark this thread and watch the corporate controlled DLC do it again in 2008.

3. The DLC is IRRELEVANT
Stop it, please, with the pretense that a puny think-tank whose influence peaked in the mid-90's is the essence of our problems.

4. That cuts two ways
I believe the far left sinks the Democratic party.

7. And what evidence do you have of that?
John Kerry ran as close to the center as he possibly could. Even to the right in some cases. How did the left influence this outcome?

10. Hardly the stench of defeat?
1) Lost the House for the first time in 40 years.

2) Lost the Senate.

3) Lost the majority of Governerships.

Clinton had no coattail affect at all as a President.

8. This is where appealing to NASCAR dads leads...
...to the NASCAR dads going for the Real Thing (tm).

Prediction: you haven't seen the end of it, either. Next time, the Dems will surface with their own Bush--a simple-minded Jesus machine, a kind of war-making and tax-cutting Howdy Doody, spouting the crap that Kansas (and Ohio!) wants to hear.
