Ya know, one bright spot...
We've all figured that even in the most competent hands the US would have a very rough ride over the next four years and Kerry would have a tough fight getting cooperation and eventually getting re-elected. Now that we've given the wheel back over to the knuckledragging monkey, he can and will damage the Bush name and the Republican party forever.

1. The real problem is the media
Until the media pulls it's head out of Bush's ass, it doesn't matter what these people do, they'll get away with it.

3. sorry, I'm just not buying that
Four years ago, during indecision 2000, my husband said that perhaps a * victory would help the Democratic party, a sentiment I saw echoed here. Then two years ago, people on DU were aghast and incredulent that the Repugs took seats. After they did, however, more excuses... it'd help the dems, etc. No, this country is just fucked up right now. Perhaps we _aren't_ really the majority?

4. I remember the same thing.
There is no silver lining in losing elections. Power consolidates itself and the Republicans may finally have it for good.

5. I don't think it's the media....
The media seemed pretty fair until late in the game, it was a lack of clear understanding on our core issues I think that did it. That and the money they threw at it...

6. Maybe now that the media don't have to whore for *
to be reelected, they will actually do their jobs... we can only dream.

In the meantime, I am getting a sense of impending doom that Al Qeda will strike soon. If it strikes, I hope it will have the decency to do so in red states, not in my backyard (NYC). We got stiffed. Everyone made a buck out of 9/11 except for New Yorkers, Pennsylvanians and New Jerseyans.

I'm not going to shed a tear for anyone's child who dies in Iraq and who voted for *. I'm not shedding a tear for a * voter who loses a job or health benefits or gets the house destroyed by a hurricane.

I'm not shedding a tear for a * voter who ends up a paraplegic or with Alzheimer's and won't allow to research on stem cells.

I won't shed a tear for a woman in Alabama or Mississippi who gets pregnant and can't get a safe legal abortion.

I am sick and tired of feeling sorry for people's self inflicted miseries.

8. Amen!
I couldn't have said it better myself. As of Nov. 3, 2004, it's every man/woman for his/herself. I tried. I gave it as much as I could. I'm through.
