I think our registration efforts were too late
Despite a record high voter turnout, it was still only 60% of eligible voting population. Our efforts were tremendous in the last year but we should have started it in earnest right after Gore lost. According to Rove, the pukes were getting their base registered all along. I believe him. The forced birthers and fundies had highly organized registration/mail in vote drives. We need to get on this right now, with progressive organizations, the ACLU, and pro-choice groups. Newsflash: White, heterosexual, married fundies are NOT the majority of this country. We are.

1. Absolutely agreed.
We should be doing canvassing on a regular schedule, three times a year, every year.

A lot of voting happens in churches. Does that strike you as strange?

3. Allot of my registrations from June were already had disconnected
phones and change of address by the time I did my final follow ups in the past two weeks. I am dealing with young, poor, highly mobile people. Does it even matter to get them registered early? It only matters if they vote, and to make sure they vote, I need to know where they are.

It make me kind of nauseous to be thinking about this already, but I guess it needs to be done.

5. I think Kerry's testicles were too small
Yes, he probably legitimately lost the electoral vote. What bothers me (especially after 2000) is that we're, once again, not counting votes that have the potential, however slim, to make a difference.

This is a man who promised that every vote would be counted. What POSSIBLE reason does he have for conceding before that happens? Unity? Does he really think he's helping unify the country by handing us another inconclusive election?

"Yea" on the U.S. Patriot Act
"Yea" on the IWR
"Yea" on refusing to count the votes as he promised

No balls.
