...far right hand, downscreen, under "Latest Headlines" (#4 on the list at 11 am Pacific time, 12/7). You need Real Player.
It is a masterpiece of the art of marginalization. NPR is far better at making protestors sound like raving, unpleasant people, and Bush hitmen like Kenneth Blackwell and their university professor experts-at-lapping-puddles-at-the-feet-of-power sound like the reasonable people, than any other news organization. They are pros at it.
1. They soundclip Bob Fritakis, as was done to Howard Dean, as he tries to trumpet his very hoarse voice to a large crowd--no mention of size of crowd--the phrase they clip unconvincing, unreasonable sounding rant, very likely made to seem so by how it's cut.
2. Blackwell--indoors, no ambient sound, well fed, good salary, manicure that very morning, says "Elections are human endeavors. There are always problems here and there...".
3. Some academic poodle from Ohio--Daniel Takogi (sp?)--says, "There is evidence of serious, serious problems, but I don't think..."--I can't remember what he don't think, who cares? --something to do with give it up, it's hopeless, it is not sanctioned by the powers, kiss my Ph.D.
