HEADS UP: Work on detailed plans privately -- this is a public forum.
Let's be smart about items like media blitz programs and the like and use the DU boards to recruit members and provide overall updates but have team or project leaders organize details via private e-mails or private chat rooms. Anyone can read what we we post out here -- let's not give activists on the other side a map for countering us.

1. I'm not so sure this is a good idea.
It is true that public planning is left open for "the other side" to use. But the alternative -- only making the plans available to a few dozen people in private -- is worse, in my opinion.

Ultimately, it comes down to the relative sizes of the audience for us versus them.

By keeping things public, we potentially have thousands of people on "our side" who will read it, versus dozens or maybe hundreds on the other side. That's a good breakdown for us.

If we keep things private, we may succeed in cutting the "other side" audience to zero, but we also cut our own audience to a few dozen, or maybe a hundred or so people. That's not so great.

I certainly agree that there is value in doing certain things privately. But we need to be careful not to undermine our own efficacy by being too secretive.

2. Agree Keep The Plans Open For All Who Wish To Be Involved
Many new DUers are kicking ass. Hard. Open Door is the best policy.

3. I agree -- meant certain details that are administratively..
important and time consuming, not the process. Openness is critical to establishing credibility. No argument here on that.
