Presidential Election Tracking: A STOLEN ELECTION - AGAIN!
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 09:14 AM by tommcintyre
<KICK THIS UP OVER AND OVER - MAKE SURE EVERYONE GETS A CHANCE TO SEE IT. ALSO, PROPAGATE THIS POST ALL OVER THE WEB. WE HAVE 11 DAYS BEFORE AN EVEN MORE EXTREME SITUATION WILL DEVELOP>

http://www.independentmediasource.com

November 3rd - In hindsight, we never stood a chance - the "fix" was in from the beginning. Nothing we could have done - no matter how many voters we registered and got to the polls - would have made a difference. In the end, the numbers would've been "adjusted" so Bush would win enough electoral votes. And - so he would have a majority popular vote; so he could declare a "mandate" and push through his extremist agenda.

In Florida, and probably Ohio (and very possibly other states), the election is most likely being stolen through voter fraud. I say this for the following reasons:

- The exit polls showed a clear Kerry advantage in these states. Early in the counting yesterday, Bob Woodward expressed reservations about the wide disparity between the exit polls and the claimed vote count. And the gap has only gotten worse since then.

- Those still undecided at election time historically trend for the challenger.

- Bush's approval rating has averaged about 48% in the polls just prior to the election. It is unheard of for an incumbent to be re-elected if this number is under 50%.

- A high voter turn-out strongly favors the Democrats over the Republicans. This will turn out to be the highest turnout in 40 years (since the sixties).

- The "young vote", who registered and pledged to vote in record numbers (and polled strongly against Bush); were "under the radar" in the national polling - due to using cell phones, etc. So their vote should've skewed the voting results much higher than the pre-election polls indicated. (Also, in many polls, they were not counted because they had never voted before, and were not considered "likely voters").
- An article even indicated that Democrats also were under-represented in the polling surveys:

"Bush or Kerry - Are Pollsters Making the Connection? New CEA Survey Finds Consumer Shift to Cellular Phones, New Telephone Technologies Leave Millions out of Polling Process - Survey Finds Republicans More Likely To Respond To Phone Polls; Democrats More Likely To Screen Calls and Answer Most Calls At Home Using Cell Phone"
http://www.independentmediasource.com/feature_archive.htm#102304_19

I'm sure there are other discrepancies. These are just the ones that immediately came to mind.

How did they do it?

There are many traditional ways to influence an election. But since the 2000 Florida election, a much more powerful way of influencing the election has been implemented - electronic voting (Evoting). With Evoting, it is very easy to change the results of an election. And no one can prove it, since there is no paper trail. There are many ways this can be done by programming the machine to give a desired result. For example, it is possible to program an Evoting machine to change the votes by inputing an exact combination of voting choices. This is very similar to entering your password into an ATM bank machine to get money. This Presidential election, 30% of the votes were cast using Evoting - WITH NO PAPER TRAIL! Many computer professionals have been leading the charge against Evoting. The more someone knows about this kind of voting, the more they are against it.

I suggest you educate yourself about Evoting and voting fraud. A good place to start would be to watch the following documentaries on my "Watch Online" video page.

- Votergate 1 and 2

- Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election

http://www.independentmediasource.com/video.htm

<Also, watch other vids on this page, like "Bush's Brain", to better understand what we are up against.>

"Invisible Ballots: A temptation for Electronic vote fraud"
http://www.independentmediasource.com/video_p2.htm

"Governments are installing computerized voting systems with no paper record to verify accuracy. Elections will be controlled by companies that do not allow voters to inspect their software. If vote counting becomes privatized, there may be no way to get it back. High-tech vote fraud is already a reality. If you value your vote, you must get this information to your friends – and fast!"

and "Everywhere But Florida" are also excellent. But I do not have links to watch them online; just to the web sites and to watch the trailers.

<I will develop an "Evoting Fraud" page by tomorrow night (November 3rd). Right now, there is only one link here. Please send me any good ones you may have.>

http://www.independentmediasource.com/evotingfraud.htm

What will they do if they succeed in this theft?

If Bush administration succeeds, it is clear that this group of right-wing extremists plan to finish transforming our country. They plan on transforming it into something that our founding fathers never intended. Our country will become a place that is only "friendly" to the privileged few; and adheres to a very narrow intolerant belief system. In addition, we will become even more isolated and unsupported by the rest of the world - possibly irrevocably.

And those who want to do us harm will only become more inflamed and multiply. The world (including our country) will increasingly become a much more dangerous place to live. The net effect of a Bush win would be that the disturbing trends we have seen over the last four years would become much more extreme and permanent.

So what do we do?

1 - Organize, and participate in, demonstrations, protests, etc immediately! Write letters/email the media, government officials, people you know, etc - anyone who will listen. The word must be gotten out about this! The mainstream media (and the GOP) are already "spinning" this away from any discussion of the possibility of voting fraud. Public attention MUST be drawn to this now - before the results are finalized. < I will look for and publicize any activities that may help.>

IF THIS COMES OUT THE WAY THIS LOOKS LIKE ITS GOING TO, WE HAVE TO TAKE MAJOR ACTION!

For example, a very serious, coordinated long-term economic boycott of the US big corporate business system. HIT THEM WHERE IT HURTS! (More on this in upcoming days if necessary.)

Keep positive, and keep coming back here. We have power if we work together.

1. Demand that Congress Act
We deserve a voting system that works and that "we the people" have faith in.That must come from the CONGRESS...a congress that has shown us how weak they are under Bush.
I for one will call and write like I never have before and we should all....take to the streets....a NATIONAL DEMONSTRATION DAY!!!! WE LACK LEADERSHIP AT THIS LEVEL .MICHAEL MOORE IS A GOOD START BECAUSE HE KNOWS THE MEDIA......SOMETHING THE REPUBLICANS KNOW TOO WELL......every democratic senator should be hounded by each and every one of us to get a proper voting system in America!

11. MICHAEL MOORE!?
When will people wake the hell up and realize all the reasons why Bush got so much support.
One of many was our, as a group support of the self serving slob Michael Moore.
Moore prays upon our passion to generate millions of dollars for himself. Feeding our passion with things we would love to be true, but in reality are not.
His blatant lies regarding so many different issues pissed of so many repuks, they used it against us to sway many votes.
I honestly believe he is solely in this to make money and is a huge detriment to our effort.
Of course I'm not contributing the loss solely to him, but it was akin to throwing gas on a fire!
99% of everything he has put on the screen can be factually disputed, and was.
When we place him on a pedestal and praised him for telling the "truth" it made us (as a whole) look like idiots and liars. This did NOTHING positive for our effort.
It did however make it very easy for Bush supporters to claim that EVERYTHING we believed or claimed was based on lies.
What will win us the war in 2008 will be the undeniable truths!
You and I both know those truths exist and will exist without having to distort or mislead anyone.
We must as a whole expose those truths, and not allow overzealous ambitions or greed to give cause for disbelieve.

16. Okay, sir, list the things
in Michael Moore's documentary that are false. Everything in that documentary has been documented on this site for almost four years. It could have been the research done right here on this board that Moore relied upon. The threads and documents can be found throughout the archives on this forum.

34. I knew they would try, fraud is what they do. But I hoped Kerry would be
ahead of it. He had the resume for it. BCCI, fighter etc.
Very, very sad at the rollover. Even if we couldn't prove the fraud I would not be depressed if we went down fighting.

8. End e-voting NOW!
While I am totally in favor of a paper trail I am confused about what it would do.

So you get a receipt. So what?
Well, the vote goes in and it could still get digitally changed, in route.
For instance:
The results come in and our candidate loses by a slim margin.
Who is and how are you gonna contest it? So in every close race we hand count the paper trail?
If that is the case then why don't we hand count ALL OUR VOTES and take a week or so to do it? Equal teams from all parties would be involved.

I think this instant gratification--T.V. culture mentality--is killing our country.
Why not take our time and have 3 days to vote and 2 weeks to hand count. WTF is wrong with that?
I DO NOT trust this E-voting bu*&sh*t what-so-ever!!!

13. It's MUCH worse than most people think...but here's some GOOD news
This is from Peter Phillips,a Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University and Director of Project Censored. For a listing of current censored news stories see http://www.projectcensored.org/

"Election Systems & Software (ES&S), Diebold, and Sequoia are the companies primarily involved in implementing the new voting stations throughout the country. All three have strong ties to the Bush Administration. The largest investors in ES&S, Sequoia, and Diebold are government defense contractors Northrup-Grumman, Lockheed-Martin, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Accenture. Diebold hired Scientific Applications International Corporation (SAIC) of San Diego to develop the software security in their voting machines. A majority of officials on SAIC's board are former members of either the Pentagon or the CIA including:

* Army Gen. Wayne Downing, formerly on the National Security Council

* Bobby Ray Inman; former CIA Director

* Retired Adm. William Owens, former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

* Robert Gates, another former director of the CIA.

So, we have a CIA/military private firm that programmed the security in the voting machines for companies owned by some of the largest military contracts in the country. No wonder the Co-founder of the Citizens Alliance for Secure Elections, Susan Truitt said November 3: "Seven counties in Ohio have electronic voting machines and none of them have paper trails. That alone raises issues of accuracy and integrity as to how we can verify the count. A recount without a paper trail is meaningless; you just get a regurgitation of the data. Last year, Blackwell tried to get the entire state to buy new machines without a paper trail.

The exit polls, virtually the only check we have against tampering with a vote without a paper trail, had shown Kerry with a lead. ... A poll worker told me this morning that there were no tapes of the results posted on some machines; on other machines the posted count was zero, which obviously shouldn't be the case.

Our level of non-participation really means democracy has failed in the US. Democracy is the people making decisions about the important issues in their lives. Freedom is the ability to act on these decisions. Without an electoral choice democracy is non-existent and freedom only means the right to choose your own brand of toothpaste. Without an active independent media informing on the powerful, we lack both freedom and democracy."

and THIS from voxfux.com

MASSIVE VOTE FRAUD!---ALL ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES SUSPECT.........ALL ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES PRODUCED BY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN EXTREMISTS...........ALL ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES ARE A FRAUD...........REPUBLICANS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY WIN OVER DEMOCRATS BY GAINING 18,181 VOTES.........TEXAS REPUBLICANS DANNY SCHEEL, CARTER CASTEEL and JEFF WENTWORTH ALL RECIEVED EXACTLY THE SAME NUMBER OF VOTES - 18,181............TIME TO WAKE UP........... THE CHANCES OF ALL THREE GETTING THE EXACT SAME NUMBER OF VOTES IS ON THE ORDER OF MILLIONS TO ONE - YET THE CORPORATE MEDIA REFUSES TO REPORT THIS FACT.......... BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE..............TURNS OUT THAT MICHIGAN REPUBLICAN CANDICE MILLER BEAT HER DEMOCRATIC OPPONENT - SHE GOT 18,181 VOTES.....HMMMMM.....AND REPUBLICAN MICHAEL SMIGIEL FROM MARYLAND BEAT HIS CHALLENGER - CAN YOU GUESS HOW MANY VOTES HE GOT? YOU GUESSED IT - 18,181...

The # of irregularities, "lost" votes and malfunctions causing HOURS worth of votes to be lost are legion and for those that don't believe in exit polling, analysis of the polling data vs actual data and voting systems supports the hypothesis that evoting may be to blame in the discrepancies. Nevada has evoting but with verified receipts. In that state the Exit Polling matches the actual results within .1% accuracy. Exit polling had been an uncannily accurate predictor of vote results prior to Evoting and continues to be accurate in places where receipts are required or where they are not used. Coincidence?

Bev Harris of blackboxvoting.org is launching "the largest Freedom of Information action in history. At 8:30 p.m. Election Night, Black Box Voting blanketed the U.S. with the first in a series of public records requests, to obtain internal computer logs and other documents from 3,000 individual counties and townships. Networks called the election before anyone bothered to perform even the most rudimentary audit.

America: We have permission to say No to unaudited voting. It is our right.

Among the first requests sent to counties (with all kinds of voting systems -- optical scan, touch-screen, and punch card) is a formal records request for internal audit logs, polling place results slips, modem transmission logs, and computer trouble slips.

An earlier FOIA is more sensitive, and has not been disclosed here. We will notify you as soon as we can go public with it.

Such a request filed in King County, Washington on Sept. 15, following the primary election six weeks ago, uncovered an internal audit log containing a three-hour deletion on election night; “trouble slips” revealing suspicious modem activity; and profound problems with security, including accidental disclosure of critically sensitive remote access information to poll workers, office personnel, and even, in a shocking blunder, to Black Box Voting activists."

These machines are a joke and are largely responsible for a # of Repubs winning seats over the years in areas where, again, the exit polling and prior indicators said it was impossible. If you are unaware how long this has been going on and the true depth of "irregularities" and "errors" and "missing votes" Bev has her book
available online at http://www.blackboxvoting.org

14. Technical analysis of Diebold source code....
FYI: A technical analysis of the source code used in the most common paperless voting system, Diebold, was performed in 2003 by computer scientists at Johns Hopkins University and Rice University. Below are exerts from the abstract submitted by these researchers (Analysis of Electronic Voting, February 27, 2004)

“We present a security analysis of the source code to one such machine used in a significant share of the market. Our analysis shows that this system is far below even the most minimal security standards applicable in other contexts.”…”we demonstrate that the insider threat is also quite considerable, showing that not only can an insider, such as a poll worker, modify the votes, but that insiders can also violate voter privacy and match votes with the voters who cast them. “

“…We conclude that this system is unsuitable for use in a general election. Any paperless electronic voting system might suffer similar flaws, despite any “certification” it could have otherwise received. We suggest that the best solutions are voting systems having a “voter-verifiable audit trail,” where a computerized voting system might print a paper ballot that can be read and verified by the voter.”

This paper appears in IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy 2004. IEEE Computer Society Press, May 2004. This paper also appeared as the Johns Hopkins University Information Security Institute Report TR-2003-19, July 23, 2003. Aviel Rubin, one the Johns Hopkins researchers has posted the technical analysis: http://avirubin.com/vote.pdf

The wackiest part is that, after all of this was revealed, NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Diebold uses the same code, same security, same, same, same...slot machines have more security...

15. Are the States Checking the Paper Trail Where it Exists
If there was voter fraud, it probably occurred in the jurisdictions without any paper trail. However, I would hope the states and counties would at least spot-check the paper trail of electronic voting machines where it does exist (such as some counties in Ohio apparently).

Maybe we need to highlight counties where there are suspicions of wrong-doing and ask those counties to check the paper trail.

Please keep in mind one distinction - some machines give paper receipts, but do not keep paper ballots. There is a big difference. A set of paper receipts means little unless every single voter holds onto their receipts and brings the receipt back for a recount. A paper trail involves letting voters check the paper after they vote and then having the paper immediately drop into a secure holding bin.

17. More on Diebold - Mother Jones Magazine March 2004
http://www.motherjones.com/commentary/columns/2004/03/03_200.html

"...Walden "Wally" O'Dell the chairman of the board and chief executive of Diebold. For years, O'Dell has given generously to Republican candidates. Last September, he held a packed $1,000-per-head GOP fundraiser at his 10,800-square-foot mansion. He has been feted as a guest at President Bush's Texas ranch, joining a cadre of "Pioneers and Rangers" who have pledged to raise more than $100,000 for the Bush reelection campaign. Most memorably, O'Dell last fall penned a letter pledging his commitment "to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President."

...One of the longest-serving Diebold directors is W.R. "Tim" Timken. Like O'Dell, Timken is a Republican loyalist and a major contributor to GOP candidates. Since 1991 the Timken Company and members of the Timken family have contributed more than a million dollars to the Republican Party and to GOP presidential candidates such as George W. Bush. Between 2000 and 2002 alone, Timken's Canton-based bearing and steel company gave more than $350,000 to Republican causes, while Timken himself gave more than $120,000. This year, he is one of George W. Bush's campaign Pioneers, and has already pulled in more than $350,000 for the president's reelection bid.

While Diebold has received the most attention, it actually isn't the biggest maker of computerized election machines. That honor goes to Omaha-based ES&S, and its Republican roots may be even stronger than Diebold's... in 1987, McCarthy & Co, an Omaha investment group, acquired a minority share in AIS.

In 1992, investment banker Chuck Hagel, president of McCarthy & Co, became chairman of AIS...A little less than 8 months after stepping down as director of AIS, Hagel surprised national pundits and defied early polls by defeating Benjamin Nelson, the state's popular former governor. It was Hagel's first try for public office. Nebraska elections officials told The Hill that machines made by AIS probably tallied 85 percent of the votes cast in the 1996 vote, although Nelson never drew attention to the connection. Hagel won again in 2002, by a far healthier margin. That vote is still angrily disputed by Hagel's Democratic opponent, Charlie Matulka, who did try to make Hagel's ties to ES&S an issue in the race and who asked that state elections officials conduct a hand recount of the vote..."

20. Unfortunately...
From blackboxvoting.org.

Essentially it says that, by hacking the audit log, there is no way to tell that anything has been tampered with, so, my conclusion is that it is possible to "create" #'s that match the receipts...

"MONDAY Nov 1 2004: New information indicates that hackers may be targeting the central computers counting our votes tomorrow. All county elections officials who use modems to transfer votes from polling places to the central vote-counting server should disconnect the modems now.

It appears that such an attack may already have taken place, in a primary election 6 weeks ago in King County, Washington -- a large jurisdiction with over one million registered voters. Documents, including internal audit logs for the central vote-counting computer, along with modem “trouble slips” consistent with hacker activity, show that the system may have been hacked on Sept. 14, 2004. Three hours is now missing from the vote-counting computer's "audit log," an automatically generated record, similar to the black box in an airplane, which registers certain kinds of events.

The audit log is a computer-generated automatic record similar to the "black box" in an airplane, that automatically records access to the Diebold GEMS central tabulator (unless, of course, you go into it in the clandestine way we demonstrated on September 22 in Washington DC at the National Press club.)

The central tabulator audit log is an FEC-required security feature. The kinds of things it detects are the kinds of things you might see if someone was tampering with the votes: Opening the vote file, previewing and/or printing interim results, altering candidate definitions (a method that can be used to flip votes).

Three hours is missing altogether from the Sept. 14 Washington State primary held six weeks ago.

Diebold says altering the audit log cannot be done. Of course, we know a chimpanzee can't get into an elections office and play with the computer, but to demonstrate how easy it is to delete audit log entries, we taught a chimpanzee to delete audit records using an illicit "back door" to get into the program, Diebold told reporters it was a "magic show." Yet, Diebold's own internal memos show they have known the audit log could be altered since 2001!"

Friggin' TERRIFYING!!

21. That was September
so the possibility is hardly startling. Edwards was approached, so we were told weeks ago on these forums and of course there are no miracles to prove tis or restore the record.

One scandal you are not getting. The obvious. No central campaign effort was made, even to reveal the mortal wound. Bev has been shouting in an echo chamber- and we must admit- much neglected here according to the blatant importance of the cause. Talk about obvious! the same happened with impunity, with mute navel gazing in 2002. After that we learned at least the methods and the tell tale signs of the abuse.

Kerry lost for nothing on this issue because they did not at the least expose its existence and did not join Bev(or get a bigger effort to take it over) in the observation process. We are reacting on a dime here compared to most others in the nation. Thanks to Palast the Brits are better informed than our own people, our own politicians. Of course, Black disenfranchisement has moved almost to a cliche status- still not addressed with vigor by the party. The NAACP lawsuits are ineffectual in the big scene. The ACLU is pathetically funny in that it enabled BBV through unprofessional shortsightedness.

I believed it would happen. I had some confidence(got me again DNC!) that the leadership of the party had factored it in at least and that Ohio had been sufficiently held back from total BBV influence. But Bush's nervousness betrayed only that their determination to take it all anyway no matter how patent the theft was making things personally risky. And it nearly didn't succeed and didn't unite the country. But the latter he knew already and does not care about. Despotism reigns and will move as fast as hackers' fingers on a Diebold keyboard.

The issue as well as the votes continues to be nearly invisible and way too late in the game. You need to try(again) to get it into the thick heads of the NY State legislature, the only hopeful branch of the triumvirate(Pataki has grand ambitions) of the simple theft over and over again. I worry that having a paper trail is highly insufficient to the intricacies of this new system of fraud.

The whole issue is invisible. If mumbled among the masses, they don't understand, just get conveniently discouraged and used to the horror.

Look at DU where this has been forecast in the details of its operation for months. The lag in just getting it is fatal. At this stage you can be treated like a nut for trying to demonstrate how Bush
stole the PV. Cluelessness is sealed by our party leadership. I have not seen anything like Harris's efforts where you would demand to have it most. If it was known in the party leadership and no one sees or hears it does it exist? Not for the public. Not for America the fallen.

It is a machine! If you can't deal with a stupid machine how can you take the more daunting task of reaching the brainwiped masses?

23. THE LAW WAS BROKEN BY FRAUD, NO DEMOCRACY UNTIL WE ENFORCE IT!!!
If we just "get over" this fascist coup by fraud, we will lose our Democracy.

WE NEED TO FIND THE CRIMINALS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS NATIONAL FRAUD CAMPAIGN AND BRING THEM TO JUSTICE.

Millions of people in various groups were targetted for systematic disenfranchizement--it was made practically impossible for them to vote and and have their vote counted correctly. Wherever Rebublican officials had power to run an election that included Democratic voters, systematic fraud went into effect. Perfectly legal voters dropped from voting rolls. Absentee ballots that weren't sent out in time to make the election. In Democratic-leaning communities, there weren't enough machines for the number of registered voters there to use, but Republican areas had plenty!! A Republican voting machine company promised and delivered the Ohio vote to Republicans using machines that were easily subject to fraud.

28. The results can be tested... via statistical analysis
and other methods.. Keep on it, but avoid jumping to conclusions please. He won by 3000000 nationally and the margins in Florida and Ohio are what 500,000? so lets do it logically and get those experts to line up first.

Meanwhile..I want to get a puppy for me and my old dog.

29. THE SYMBOL OF THE ANTI-BUSH PEOPLE
Now they've done it and I'm really mad & advancing. What have we done wrong? Nothing wrong, then why such outcome?
Perhaps just 'cause of this. Perhaps we were too reasonable, too convincing, just too much right I daresay - whilst no reason is needed for some. Sadly, for the most: because the no reason way is the much easier one, it's always easier when there're no conditions present; I use to say: "the finer the sieve, the lighter the bag". So the aim is not, as it seems, to reason - but to make citizens reasonable. I got something out there, which can come to be THE SYMBOL of the anti-Bush movement, something our Community had lacked and it was not good, was it. Such symbol must be both simple and fitting, and the one really says all we need to know about the person (referring to the wonderful "upturned book happening" of the bushlife, not much we need to recognize an idiot and no more than idiot an idiot is, whatever he pretends) - doing it in both killing simple and intelligent way.
But then, it needs just a bit of wits to get it, which is the reason the Republicans won't wear it...*
Maybe the funny little piece will help some folks see something clearer - at last. As despite of what some may think, it isn't too late yet. Perhaps.
Have a look at it:

* To understand what the icon depicts, the Reps would have to think just this bit; my theory is, that if one happens to have any thought just once, he would never return to being stupid so will be Rep no longer. Our problem with them is not that they don't think - but that they never had thought. But is it just ours.

35. Preliminary results analyzing voting patterns in Ohio counties
We have been crunching voting results in Ohio and have discovered the following CONSISTENT PATTERN:

First, using congressional voting, we divided Ohio counties into 2 groups:
Group 1 - counties where congressional votes heavily favored Republicans;
Group 2 - counties where congressional votes were close or heavily favored Democrats.

In Group 1 counties, the number of ballots with no presidential vote were consistently 300 in 10,000 (3%).
In Group 2 counties, the number of ballots with no presidential vote were consistently 600 in 10,000 (6%).

That's 3% additional ballots without a presidential vote recorded ONLY in counties that were not reliably Republican!

We are beginning to see this SAME CONSISTENT PATTERN in other states.
