Question!
Guys, just how accessible to the general public are the electoral rolls? I was always told that the general public can view them, but someone told my mum yesterday that they aren't?

1. I don't think the electoral rolls are available to the general public.....
...until after the election has been certified by the election officials. Then I believe the electoral rolls are available to the press and general public (etc.) for review.

2. I know that private investigators can look at them,
and I don't suppose they have any special status, so I guess anyone
can view them.

4. Here ya go
How to View the Commonwealth Electoral Roll

The publication of the roll is integral to the conduct of free and fair elections, enabling participants to verify the openness and accountability of the electoral process and object to the enrolment of any elector. Every AEC divisional office has the Commonwealth Electoral Roll for their State or Territory in electronic format. An Australia wide electronic version of the electoral roll is available for viewing at every AEC State Head Office, ACT Divisional Office and the Central Office in Canberra.

Note: The AEC only provides the current version of the roll.

A facility is also available on our website that allows you to verify your enrolment details online.

6. Thank you...
Although I have been here a long time!

Some may call it lurking, I prefer to think in terms of quality over quantity.

cheers
