1. I'll try to help
As a native Portuguese speaker who has bought a Swedish Tape but lost interest.... I'll give it a try.

As a person who has studied romantic languages while being fluent in one, I would say Portuguese is probably easier. The pronunciation of Swedish is downright difficult (i had a Swedish roommate) That is not to say that Portuguese pronunciation is a walk in the park.... I have found people have a lot of difficulty with Brazilian pronunciation....

As to books on tape... its really not the way to learn a language... I have tought beginning Portuguese and Spanish, I think real instruction is the way to go, or total immersion(living in the country)

I don't think I answered your question though. I say go with the Portuguese so you can cheer on Brazil in the World Cup.....

RUMO AO HEXA!!!!
