Pair questioned over ricin find
A father and son are being questioned by anti-terrorism officers following the discovery of the poison ricin at a house in County Durham.

The find is connected to a police inquiry into alleged extreme right-wing activity.

Ian Davison, 41, and his son, Nicky, 18, were arrested on Tuesday in raids at their homes in County Durham.
...
The former pub DJ's son was detained at his home in Annfield Plain on suspicion of inciting racial hatred but is now also being held under the Terrorism Act.

Unfortunately, the Trots seem to have cornered the market hereabouts lately. Promising signs that it's becoming more ecumenical ...

Anfield Plain is rustbelt country - post-Steelmaking and Mining Wasteland. Classic breeding group for the bacillus fascisticus.

2. Timed story?
I have my deep suspicions about these "terrorism busts now". I am glad it flopped as a story and I am glad Jackboots is no longer Home Secretary. I would have expected many busts on "extreme Islamists" tonight.

3. These aren't Islamists..
they are homegrown Nazi types.

In any case, I think they're real. RW domestic terrorism gets underplayed if anything, here and in America.

4. Definitely
If the above story was about Islamists, FOX News would be all over it.

5. It was a story from the UK.
Fox seems to suggest that terrorism is always going to burst its way on to Americans and never really happens outside because the whole World "hates American freedom"TM Fox News.

Given the timing, I still remain suspicous. Also with Jackboots Smith leaving the Home Office and now two BNP MEPs, I wonder iz Zanu Labour will lay off the Islamic Terror thing for a while.

6. Suspicious of whom?
Please, "Zanu Labour" is a ridiculous thing to say. I can't quite see how 2 BNP MEPs will decrease the number of arrests, bogus or justified, for 'terrorism', whether it's Islamic, or white supremacist like this was.

7. Are you suggesting that the Labour Party has not hyped up
the "terror" issue continually. The terror bust on the week Jackboots Smith was having expenses difficulties that led to dozens of arrests, all timed for headline news (then went wrong because the police revealed when they were happening). Not one charged.

I would agree with you in part, that the election of fascists from the UK to the European Parliament will probably do nothing to reduced Islamaphobia spread by New Labour and the fake busts will probably continue. I would just wish that some wiser heads in Government may now prevail given that this has led to the election of the British Nazi Party.

10. But I haven't seen the white extremist terrorist threat hyped up much
and that's what we're dealing with here. Are you saying that they're now trying to even things up by making up charges against white supremacists?

11. OK - Let's wait and see. Call me cynical but I will wait for a conviction.
Even during the last days of Jackboot Smith at The Home Office, I do not believe that they would have been stupid enough to pull off another "Islamic Extremist" raid when the BNP are on the rise. They would however not be afraid of playing the terror card.

8. Actually, FOX has covered seemingly small things like this before in the UK
The fact those suspects at hand were Islamist made it newsworthy.
