Circular firing squad at 10 Downing Street
Edited on Sat Apr-18-09 04:15 PM by Liberal Elitist
New Labour now starting to eat itself.

Looks like Ed Balls was running a party within a party http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article6122756.ece

It wasn't just McBride & Draper who set up the smear site theredrag.co.uk, Ray Collins, Charlie Whelan, Kevin Maguire & a Unite press officer were all in on it: http://blogs.notw.co.uk/politics/2009/04/emails-nail-labours-lies.html

Great, isn't it. Here in the states they have DU, Obama, and "yes we can", wheras we've got theredrag, New Labour, and the catchphrase from In The Loop:

Tories 19% ahead - thanks Damien and Derek

1. Rather confirms ny suspicions that McBride's emails were leaked by a Labour insider
Some scores are obviously being settled here.

2. And soon we'll have Cameron, Osborne and Hague
And the Bankers will be collecting their "Get Out Of Regulation Free" cards and dancing in the streets.

3. If the Tories win the next election I expect Cameron
to be the last Prime Minister of a 'United Kingdom' since I expect the Scots to opt for independence before his term ends.

4. "wheras we've got theredrag, New Labour, and the catchphrase from In The Loop"
You forgot Guido Fawkes. This whole mess appears to have started because Labour wanted a rival to that poxy website.

The Sunday papers are full of smear stories. The News of the Screws is trying to drag more people into the "smeargate" story, the Sunday Times is running a hatchet job on Ed Balls and the People has a front page splash about tories and hookers. It looks like both main parties have decided to forget about serving the common good and just throw shit at each other instead.

5. You've got that right!
'It looks like both main parties have decided to forget about serving the common good and just throw shit at each other instead.'

Exactly. And just what we need when the economy is going down the tube.

6. So where do we go?
I try - I really do - to see the LibDems as an alternative but they don't seem to get beyond their All Things To All Persons schtick. And up here in Northumberland - and in informal coalition with the Tories - they've defied the odds to be an even more incompetent bunch of wonkers than the previous NuLab bunch.

7. "So where do we go?"
It might help if the whole lot of them were less concerned with throwing muck and more concerned with principles, policies and the public good.

Well I can dream can't I?
