Noise control - live music etc
The Government are looking at including Noise Control Equipment in Music Venues (when License renewals are issued).

Anyone against this please sign this official petition : http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/NoNoiseControl/

Richard.

2. Thanks
Appreciated. My local , The Horns in Watford , IS a music pub, mainly live, almost 7 days a week and hence the importance of the issue to me and others.

3. Aren't local councils the ones who should be looking at this sort of thing...

...when they licence music venues in the first place? If it's that much of a problem to residents then don't issue the licence!

4. If the law is passed
the licences will then be reviewed by the local councils when they come up for renewal. It's unlikely they would not renew licences but could impose noise control. As far as I'm concerned residents who move to a house whatever after a licence has been granted have nothing whatsoever to whinge about. They had this issue at The Bull @ Barnes which has been used as a jazz venue since the fifties. They have to keep the back door closed while music is being played. I think the offending resident has subsequently moved - back to farm I'd guess : the old cow.
