Has anyone heard the Canadian Psalm?
It's pretty good...

Paul Martin is my shepherd I shall soon want
He leadeth me beside still factories and abandoned farms
He restores my doubt about the Grits
He annointed my wages with taxes and inflation, so my expenses runneth over my income.
Surely, poverty and hard living shall follow the Grits and I shall work on a rented farm,
and live in a rented house forever.
Five thousand years ago Moses said: "Pick up your shovel, mount your ass, and I will lead
you to the promised land".
Five thousand years later, Trudeau said:
"Lay down your shovel and sit on your ass, light up a camel;
this is the promised land".
This year Paul Martin will take your shovel, sell your camel, kick your ass,
and tell you he gave away the promised land.
I am glad I am a Canadian, I am glad I am free
But I wish I were a dog, and Paul was a tree.

1. Canadians on the whole are happy with their governance. We like
our programs and our good schools and our health care.

This seems so much propaganda.

2. Sounds like times are tough in Canada.
Be glad that your taxes are not being spent on murder of your own children (and others) for the self interests of neo-con's, and your citizens are not dieing Governmental incompetence.

4. I think times are tough everywhere...
...defenetly not as bad up hear as down there. But you know, people everywhere think politicians suck in general, regardless of what the more partisan amongst us would tell you (ie: the blind). They see that they aren't really making any more money when things like cost of living increases are factored in, so they're kind of cynical.

Just change the "don't criticize our commander in chief" to "don't criticize our Prime Minister", even in a light hearted way, and voila its the same thing as down in the old U-S of A where it's apprently tratrous to criticze the President.

But by all means take it really seriously. :sarcasm:

P.S. the Canadian Pslam is a joke, as in ha ha. Or if you don't think so then not so much.

2nd P.S. only about 36% of Canadians actually approve of the PM's performance, although intrestingly enough only another few percent have to vote for his party so that it won't really matter should he win a majority (ahh elected dictatorship, at least he's not crazy and evil though, I'll give him that).

And btw, approving or dissaproving of the PM has nothing to do with our social programmes and institutions and whatever other blah blah blah your going to say, even though Health Care is always the number one issue amongst Canadians, and they always think it needs fixing. Heh, that's another thing I find funny. "Canada is great. There are no problems, the infidelic long wating lists have been dealt with. Again I repeat, there are no problems." (That last dialogue for anyone who didn't get it is my impression of the former Iraqi "information" Minister who claimed the invading Americans were being turned back and defeated and that Saddam's reigeme was in complete control).

I'm sorry it's just so fun to poke at you guys who are all like "don't worry, be happy".

5. Don't know about all this....
but I do know that Canada has a nice budget surplus AND are increasing their trade surplus with other regions of the world besides the U.S. These things will make it much easier to ride out a recession or depression that will inevitably hit the U.S.
