On CBC this time, not CHUM. Talking about Prince William and the Royal Family. Unless they pull the segment or decide not to use me. I have to report to the London studio at 11am British time, so I'll be on in the early morning your time.

2. Are you going to ask them to take them off our hands?
Isn't it time they had a winter castle up on the Great Slave Lake, where they'd get cut off for a few months each year?

3. Apparently I'm there to add a degree of irreverent balance.
I will have to pull my punches for decency's sake, but I certainly plan on being irreverent. And funny, if that's possible before noon/a stiff drink.

5. Infuriatingly, it never happened. And I was all gussied and and ready.
No offence to our Canadian cousins, but CBC does not seem very organised.

Although maybe the rumours Wills is about to get engaged aren't solid enough yet. I don't know. The entire business was a pain in the arse.

6. Shame about that. Are these rumours current in Britain?
I'm amazingly good at ignoring 'news' in the tabloids. Are they serious rumours (so to speak), or just the trainees filling space in the papers while the normal hacks are on holiday?

9. Sadly, they cancelled my segment, or pulled the story or something.
I was standing in for one of my editors, so maybe they decided I wasn't important enough, or the story (royal wedding rumours) didn't stack up.

Oh well. How did your piece go? (I got your PM by the way)

11. Good, the local CBC guy and I interviewed each other

Me for his network and him for mine.

We were pissed about the Provincial emergency program's stupidity involving an evacuation alert. They told the media an hour and a half after it had been issued.
