Toronto Star Editorial (May 11): Ottawa's empty frenzy
From the Toronto Star
Dated Wednesday May 11

Editorial: Ottawa's empty frenzy

Some votes matter. On Sept. 9, 1939, Canada's Parliament shouted a thundering Yea to declare war on Nazi Germany, "the destroyers of civilization," as Conservative Senator Arthur Meighen put it. Suddenly, Canada was a nation under arms, fighting to preserve its freedom.

No such high purpose attended Parliament's overheated vote last night to censure Prime Minister Paul Martin's increasingly desperate federal government.

It was an act of frustration by an opposition that hankers for an early election, nothing more . . . .

The Conservatives have tied logic in knots trying to sell the motion as a formal, government-killing "vote of non-confidence." In reality, it was procedural gimmickry.

3. Contrast this with the (ugh) National Post...
Those arseholes had the vote plastered up in headlines that covered half the front page--appropriate to announcing, say, the second coming. They're our very own homegrown Faux News.

So far today I haven't heard anyone say a damn thing about this whole load of crap. No one gives a shite for Harper's silly little games.
:boring:

4. Not surprising given the NP is the child of the dispicable
Black, he would ensure his 'progeny' is as dispicable as he is.

5. It was ridiculous...
They gave this stupid procedural posturing a bigger splash than 9/11. What a POS fishwrap that rag is... :puke:
