He barges in yelling about how Gordon Campbell and his party are all "Felons" - nice to know he doesn't even know our justice system. Then crashes some plates and gets hauled out by security.

Says he's an independent not allowed to participate... I'd like to see if he's even on the damned ballot.

1. I saw a bit of him being interviewed
on Victoria's news. He seemed pretty whacky.

2. Yeah he was obviously a bit of a wierdo....
...but technically isn't Campbell a felon because of the drinking and driving thing?

There is the BC Rail sail scandal and the raid on the legislature but both of those are still being investigated -- so one must wait for due process in a sense. Hopefully they have a public inquiry, but unless the NDP gets in it's doubtful therefore I won't hold my breath on that.

3. I think what he's saying
is thre are no felons in Canada. Rather that misdemeanours and felonies the Criminal Code calls offences summary conviction offences or indictable offences. Most offences are either one or the other, some are hybrid wherein the Crown Prosecutor elects to proceed either by way of indictment or summarily.

But I think I went off on a tangent.

5. We also don't have misdemeanours, or DUI.
What we have is impaired driving and over .08

From he Criminal Code of Canada
255. (1) Every one who commits an offence under section 253 (impaired) or 254 (over .08) is guilty of an indictable offence("felony") or an offence punishable on summary conviction ("misdemeanour")

What's called a hybrid offence, the Crown (DA) elects to proceed either summarily or by way of indictment.

there are minimum sentences and if there is injury or death the penalties go up quite quickly.

More than you want to know here: <http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/c-46/42644.html>

I cover court and cops here. Which is why I chuckled that a guy "Running for office" doesn't have any clue beyond what he's learned from US tv.
Sad ain't it?

But V-kid (And I are refering to Hawaii) saying we could call Campbell a felon, but as I said I think it's a misdeanor there
