"The War is on here" --Canadian Parliament ready to rumble
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 03:10 AM by whirlygigspin
Ottawa,
Non stop screaming, shouting and insult throwing were the order of the day today, as the Canadian House of Commons descended into a rowdy raucous "shark feeding frenzy" on the Government during Question Period.

The opposition, smelling blood in the water for the Martin government, went on the attack of the scandal ridden Prime Minister, who repeatedly tried defending himself by changing the subject.

"The war is on here. It's just as if there's an election," CTV's Mike Duffy told Newsnet.

1. Quite the slugfest!

I think someone here once described Question Period in the Canadian House of Commons as "like the British House of Commons with a two-drink minimum"!

2. I watched Question Period yesterday and this article is
an understatement, lol. Mike Duffy is very pro-Harper so take anything reporting his perspective with a HUGE dose of salt. Harper didn't come off looking too well either in that 'slugfest' when the question of privatizing health care was raised.

I have been overdosing on popcorn lately, lol.

...it makes the U.K. House of Commons look like evensong in a Monastery.

Very entertaining though.
