Former MP Dan Heap has settled into a new home, but without wife Alice
Dan Heap sits patiently in a black leather easy chair, just inside the locked door on the first floor of long-term-care home Kensington Gardens.

The former downtown Toronto alderman and MP is waiting for Alice, his wife of 61 years, to join him for dinner.

His son Danny is bringing Alice from a retirement residence about 2 kilometres away. Until a week ago, as reported in the Star, the ailing couple lived there together, sharing a bed in a two-room apartment while family members struggled for almost a month to keep a 24-hour watch over Dan, who had reportedly started to wander.

Heap, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2005, and Alice, who has advanced diabetes, put their names on the Community Care Access Centre’s (CCAC) list for long-term care at Kensington Gardens five years ago.

So at $10,000.00 per month, who is part of the 99%?

I am not a part of the 1%!

So what is ?
