1. that's actually quite a charming little video
The sort of thing the internet should get used for more.

It didn't look all that cold to me, though. ;)

2. Of course, I didn't make the video, and I didn't put it on youtube.

However, I did create this DU thread, and you seem to like this thread. I trust that you aren't in essence telling a white lie: giving a misleading impression of harmony. Admittedly, I create misleading impressions frequently on DU, but that's because there's a job that needs to be done, and somebody needs to do it. For example, I want people to think that I comprehend English, because we need to reinforce the shared myth that alphabetic writing communicates ideas. (Obviously, the communication of ideas requires a writing system like the one for Chinese.)

Is there any chance that we could communicate with each other via DU's private messaging system? I have one question for you. It's fit to print, but perhaps best to keep it private nevertheless.

3. have answered your question
and I still just think the video is very charming and is the sort of thing that more people should spend more time viewing on the internet.

Imagine if everyone everywhere in the world watched 10 minutes of video a day of how other people live!

Back before webcams, when we were just talking about the 500-channel television universe, I used to think there should be channels where you could watch what was happening in cities and towns all over the world, via cameras at their main intersections or in their market squares. To see the buildings, the people, the weather ... Webcams give us that opportunity now; how many people take the opportunity? Not me. ;)

So you jogged me. I got an up close and personal tour of a town in Canada I've never been to (although one of my best friends from high school in southern Ontario moved there many years ago), and it broadened my horizons a bit. So I thank you! And I recommended the thread. ;)
