Hey Jack, what do you think now about keeping our troops in Afghanistan?

As we all know, Layton lead the charge in 2007 to defeat a Liberal motion in the Commons that would have seen our combat mission in the dreadful Afghanistan war end in February 2009.

Since Feb 2009, some 19 Canadian soldiers have been killed in this failing war. I am saddened, though not surprised, that not a single reporter has, to my knowledge, asked Jack how he now feels about putting partisan gamesmanship in the House above principle in that vote.

I do wish someone would ask that question, as I'd be most interested in what he has to say for himself.

It does no good to support Karazi's ex-Mujahideen religious wackos against the Taliban's religious wackos. We should have been there 30 years ago helping the Soviets deal with the rotten lot and bring socialist to Afghanistan. Their motives were impure, but, as every quality of life indicator proves, the Muslim nations of Western Asia under Soviet rule were and continue to be far better off than Afghanistan,
