OTTAWA — The Conservatives were seriously weighing an income-tax package closer to the one proposed by the previous Liberal government.
How seriously? Seriously enough that the alternate tax plan was erroneously posted on the Finance Department website Tuesday.
In the minutes after Finance Minister Jim Flaherty tabled his budget, the government website carried two scenarios for tax cuts.
The one labelled Option One will be the government's policy. Option Two — which was quickly yanked from the web — more closely resembled the Liberal plan.
"Everyone makes an error from time to time and that's what happened," Miles said.
