1. Well fuck me.
What the fuck is this?

When did that happen? Is this the latest "Harper is a good guy" platitude?

8. What? Do you hate Canadian farmers or something?
Stephen Harper is standing up for them! I read it at the website.

By the way, I keep the weather page bookmarked so I don't have to search through the govt. page to find it. That might be a good sanity-preserver.

4. No surprise
Harper is focused on using every asset available to him as an incumbent to secure a majority in the next election. This includes using web sites and every other official government communications channel, as possible, to promote his own policies and positioning as PM. What part of this surprises?

9. They changed the picture...
I guess the index to Canadian government services and reports is going to be a 'dynamic' news portal with the LBN of the Tory accomplishments...

10 April 2006

Ottawa, Ontario

"...I don’t want to spend too much time on the public interview process, but I do want to say how much I marvelled at the ability of Justice Rothstein to communicate his humanity, compassion and commitment in a thoughtful and accessible fashion. He quite literally charmed Parliamentarians with his quiet humility and wry humour. You know a speaker has the audience wrapped around their finger when they say: “Your question reminds me of a story” and the laughter starts almost instantaneously – even before the story comes out. I myself will soon have to start appearing before Parliamentary committees, so I am actually hoping to get some pointers, if Justice Rothstein can spare the time.
...
I also want to congratulate you and Sheila on the upcoming celebration of your 40 th wedding anniversary in a few months. It is good to see a relationship of such longevity.

More of Toews, the Justice Minister, struggling with speaking notes and asking for help with his job here

(The picture that was up on the Canada site was the same picture of Harper on the Conservative Party Page for those wondering)

7. Harper is SO CUNNING!...Expect to see him portray himself as Canada's
saviour who is all for the common man (and woman) ad nauseum. I'm so afraid it will work for him and he'll get a majority in the next election. He has taken a page from Bush's handbook on how to deceive the people into believing he's a regular guy. He's already got CTV (especially Mike Duffy and his gang) promoting him. I'll bet most Canadians don't even know that Harper went on Fox TV at the beginning of the Iraq war and apologized for Canada not joining in the attack! He is getting better and better at his act!....If he get's a majority watch him immediately start to change laws to promote his right-wing vision of Canada!...Uuugghhh!
