Protest Bush** this Thursday in Milwaukee!!
Demonstrate Against Bush Agenda

George Bush is speaking at a luncheon in Milwaukee this Thursday at the Milwaukee Art Museum to promote his social security plan. Organizations, led by the AFL-CIO Milwaukee Labor Council, will rally at Michigan and Lincoln Memorial Drive at noon. That is just kitty-corner across the street from the Art Museum.

Peace Action Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Coalition for a Just Peace will gather at 12 noon at O'Donnell Park at the far east end of Wisconsin Ave. We will then march with coffins and banners to join the rally at Michigan and Lincoln Memorial Drive. If you expect to be later than 12:10, meet us at Michigan and Lincoln Memorial Drive.

We will need about 12 volunteers to help us carry coffins, flags, etc.

Please join us to personally demonstrate against the Bush Agenda.

But I have two finals that day, and I have to prepare to move out the next.

5. what do you suppose
would be the best way to get there? I'm assuming many streets will be closed. Bus down and walk? Damn, I'm getting too old for this.

6. LOL
I'm coming from a meeting, so I'm just going to see how close I can park and walk. Probably bus would be the best, tho. I think the 30 and 31 both go down to the sunburst sculpture.

Good luck!

8. FedEx guy just told me(noon Thurs)
that he's at North ave near Webworks ( dunno if he was right or if it is just so blocked?) and that the streets are blocked by gajillions of Sherriff's cars.

Best: when I told FedEx guy that I didn't know about it but I'd go grab some of my old protest signs and get down there he got all "yeah! there ya go!'

11. EEW. That's my neighborhood.
What, was he getting a "Sexy Latte" at Node or something?

Hell, I'm glad I didn't go home for lunch (as it was, I had an interview and couldn't go to the protest). I never would have made it.

All that crap better be gone when I get out of here.

10. Did anyone else go? It was pretty well attended. I think a couple
people got arrested for sitting in the intersection with a peace sign.

12. I was there with two of my daughters
we got some good feed back (horns honking, folks returning the peace sign) My eldest was briefly interviewed by someone from AtCenterNetwork.com. She cracked him up. Nice mix of people working together today. I spoke to several older folks, some of the anarcist crew, environmental guy and vetrans to name a few. The young Republicans were up park type area by the big orange asterisk. I asked the cops on horseback if they had the "baseball" cards with info about their horses for the kids like they do at parades. Apparently not.
