Here's the story from Norm Stockwell, WORT News:
Over 250 people braved snow and slush to gather outside a military recruiting station on Madison's Eastside to mark the second anniversary of the bombing of Baghdad and the beginning of the most recent war against Iraq.
Sponsoring groups, which included the Madison Area Peace Coalition, Iraq Pledge Of Resistance, and the local chapter of Veterans For Peace were surprised and somewhat pleased to find that the recruiting station, whose posted Saturday hours were 10-2, was inexplicably closed for the day. The closing was termed by one organizer as an initial victory that she hoped would be repeated on subsequent visits.

As demonstrators lined up along east washington avenue, carrying a large paper mache' dove, they were greeted by honks of support from many motorists including one large delivery truck. Speakers from many groups addressed the crowd including Sister Maureen Mcdonnell of Edgewood College and the Madison-Arcatao Sister-City Project. She reminded the assembly that this week also marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the assasination of Elsalvador's Archbishop Romero, a tireless advocate for peace, who called peace a right and a duty.

As the crowd left, many already planning the next action, two uniformed recruiters were observed in the parking lot, sneaking back into their otherwise closed and empty offices.
