Most of US is Purple, not Red or Blue
This is from a guest yesterday on WPR. I thought it was a very good show.

1. Maps of population density of US show Blue coastal and river states
are high population density states. Red states aren't as populated.

2. I don't participate in the Red/Blue slamfest...
I think it is terribly unfair and disenfranchising to the voters who voted Democratic in the so called "red" states. Some people can not grasp the concept that with the exception of Maine and Nebraska, all the states are "winner take all" states, thus a simple majority, no matter how close, wins the state. Yes, we are shades of purple.

3. So why do media broadcasters like to show red vs. blue states?
Because the more they pit us against ourselves, the less time is focused on the real root cause of the problems in this country.....mainly the criminals in charge and the corporate media who enable them.

4. Re: the more they pit us against ourselves
Conflict = higher ratings = advertising dollars. It's as simple as that.

5. You know this is really sad but
When bad weather hits,or something bad happens,if it's in a red state I actually think Ha that's what happens to idiots that vote for Bush.Even in sports I'll always root for a red state over a blue state.Does this make me a bad person?
